What Makes Toney Such A Good Heavy???

I just dont see the big deal about him at heavy..He beat a 74 year old and a slow bum in Ruiz....He hasnt beat no one who is a real threat to him.....He hasnt face a power puncher in this division.. People Actually think this lil 5'9 midget will beat Vitali?? 6'7.........Tell me how?? Tell me how he would hit Klit enough to beat him?? And Toney couldnt Hurt Ruiz with all those Right hands what makes u think he would hurt Brewster or Peter...IMO Both of them would walk right through him...The only Toney is the true WBA champ cuz Ruiz suck but the only other title holder i can see Toney beating is Byrd only cuz he dont got power..and he will box...but other than that he will never become undisputed champ...

He has skills, most than all the top 10 heavyweights combined. While I dont believe he belongs at heavyweight and look at him fighting as an excuse so he can eat and be active his defense is insane and he could easily break down any heavyweight champion with the defense.

to re-iterate, Lights Out has mad SKILLS, which will always outweight size, strength, speed, etc....people ask how this "midget" could beat guys that are 6'5" and above, but I didn't hear those complaints when Iron Mike was destroying guys like Tucker, Thomas, and Smith....SKILLS PAY THE BILLS!

It is true for a man who can be grossly out of shape his stamina is crazy. (keep the steroid comments to yourself)

Also I would like to add, Toney has the best uppercut in the business. Nobody can compare or even come close to Toney's uppercut.

Intensions, I agree with you that Toney really hasn't proved himself as being a good heavyweight. He beat an over the hill Holyfield, an overweight Rydell Booker, and Ruiz. Had he knocked out Ruiz, I would be impressed. I think Toney needs to beat a top contender like Brock, Peter, Mccline, Valuev, Rahman, or D.Williams before he should be granted another title shot. The guy did infact cheat when he used steroids to heel his injury, so he should have to work for another shot.

just because you have a belly, doesn't mean that you are "out of shape"....did you ever get to see Reggie White play football? the guy had a beer gut but could crush offensive tackles for 3 hours straight....Jose Luis Lopez had a beer gut too (actually a chronic gut, but that's another story), and he was a frickin welterweight, and could go 12 rounds with the best in the biz....

Toney's success at Heavyweight is a combination of him having actual boxing skill and the horrible quality of heavyweights out there today.

If Toney had been Heavyweight during the era he was a Middleweight you would NEVER have heard of the guy.

His boxing skills carry him with all these bums and cowards. The guys that fight him have every advantage in size and strength but Toney makes fools of them. The only guys big enough to give him ANY kind of trouble at all, spemd more time in court trying to have belts given to them than they do in the gym and would never face a real fighter like Toney.

How can you compare Tyson with Toney? Toney lost to Montel Griffin.....Tyson would annialate Griffin! He did not destroy Tucker and Smith either. Tyson has huge power, on the other hand Toney has mediocre power at best as a heavywieght!
