Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury Overcomes John McDermott, Knocks Him Out

This revenge would have been so difficult to get but, oh, how sweet it would have been had it come into reality. Unfortunately for Big Bad John McDermott (now 25-7, 16 KOs), he failed to realize his second chance against slowly rising British heavyweight prospect Tyson Fury (11-0, 9 KOs), and suffered his first stoppage loss in four and a half years, in a heated rematch of their first controversial encounter. Last time out McDermott had started fastly and after dropping some middle rounds abd finished the job in style only to drop a highly disputed sole score (92-98) by referee Terry O'Connor to his younger opponent. Yeap huge win. He just beat a nobody that had lost his last 3, now 4 in a row (and had problems doing it too...). Could it be the next Lewis? lololol

He's 21 & has some upside....how much? Time will tell...I really think he needs a proven trainer & come to the states to get quality sparring.it's no secret he has had real trouble getting quality sparring partner.I doubt he will go to the states with a young child in his life.give the guy an opportunity to prove himself.

Yep, I tend to agree. Won't be long until he gets found out unless he takes his conditioning seriuosly. Shame coz he has the best name in the sport!

Fury is doing much better than comparible yank heavyweight Denotay Wilder

Fury is ranked 43rd in the world by boxrec, Wilder is ranked 222nd in the world

Fury is 21, Wilder is 24

Fury just beat John mcdermott who was a good fighter, Denotay wilder just beat a 4-7 bum who is 6 foot 0 and weighed 290lbs
