OK firstly, let me tell you something about facts..... then, let me tell you " A " fact

I get my facts, from being involved with boxing for 31 years.

So, I am very careful about believing what I read in magazines.....

Maybe I'm being a bit hard on the good ol ring, but here is the only " fact " that matters to me regarding this issue.....

Pacquiao being rated #1 at welterweight having only fought Cotto at a catchweight of 145..... was an absolute joke.

Clottey was the FIRST actual welterweight that Manny fought at 147lb.

Manny was not, and is not..... the best at 147.

then shouldn't they rank gbp fighters above top rank fighters?

i think pacquiao can get ranked highly for beating cotto.

Yup, Mayweather definitely came back for Manny..... that is plainly obvious.

1.) He announced his comeback on the morning of the Hatton/Pac fight

2.) It was to be against Manny's old arch-rival Marquez

I didn't really mean to diss The Ring, as I say..... it used to be my bible.

It's just that The Ring used to be definitive..... now I'm not so sure.

I was not suggesting that GBP used it for promotion, just that it has lost a little lustre to me..... for similar reasons to the one that I outlined above.

To name a fighter the best in a division, when he has never actually fought at that weight..... was a mistake. That's all I'm saying on that one. Especially when Freddie actually turned down a fight with Shane.

Remember, theoretical lists are only opinion, and The Ring is no longer definitive. I think there may have been a little Pacmania going on there
