hmmm FW dont think like that mate anymore than D.K. does.

Im sure ricky would love to put a world of hurt on Witter but FW wont be keen he is also singed to FW's biggest rival in Mick Hennessey. Its a bit like an arum and king fighter going at it. Doesnt happen too often.

Witter needs to get a belt to force his way into the reckoning.

To be honest with you Bombardier... I wouldn't read to much into the crap they post up on **********.

That site just blatently makes up boxing news half the time to try and get a rise out of people... And they're particulary anti-Hatton because the whole of ********** staff called the Tszyu vs Hatton a "COMPLETE MISSMATCH" before it happened, and they all predicted Tszyu 2nd round KO, Tszyu 1st round KO, and so on.

Because Hatton made a few of them look a little silly, they posted a load of articles after, calling Hatton a cheat etc etc...

I won't go to that website anymore, because the boxing knowledge on there is embarrasingly poor.

Agreed about **********, though I have to say that I thought that this thread would stir up a bit more debate. I deliberately tried to make the tone confrontational. Oh well, maybe the summer heat is making everyone too lazy to fight .

For the record, I can see Hatton getting another fight in before a date with Floyd, but he should be careful not to make it too much of an easy night. If Maussa's game, hell, he should go and grab the title, though if Floyd-Cotto's out he might have some competition.

I can see Hatton getting A LOT of stick on here if he takes the Maussa fight!

I can't see Hatton vs Maussa lasting more than a round! I think it would be a lower level fight than a tune up against Lovemore Ndou and a bit of a pointless exercise, but at least Hatton could add the WBA strap to his name.

Well the way I see it, Hatton's just fought Kostya Tszyu A LIGHT-WELTERWEIGHT LEGEND! And it was one HARD TOUGH fight... So I think it would be a little unfair to really Slate Ricky Hatton for taking any easy inbetween fight (against Maussa).

There are lots of other fighters out there that are allowed to take an easy inbetween fight, but I get the feeling people won't see it as ok if Hatton does it.

I dunno why a lot of people seem so against Hatton?...

Well, if he takes a mandatory next and then takes on another contender in a timely manner, say all within one year, than I personally will have no issues with him.

Thing is that you have to admit that it took Hatton a bit of a long time to get this far. At least people were hyping him up forever before he finally took a title fight, so that negative press that built up before is still going to linger. People still don't trust that him and Warren will make the right fights now. We'll see what happens.

witter should worry botu his own career ans stop belittling RH's victory over KT.

              blokes a ****.
i've read the same sentiments from the brittish boxing forums. i would have to side with the brit's on this one. they see and know more about hatton and witter than us stateside.

it appears that hatton will stay in brittain with his boy parris and not venture out to take on the real contenders. smart move.

damn...corrales/goosen keep on saying they're negotiateing with hattons. and chico recently said he'd go over there for the fight.

i recently viewed the tszyu/hatton a second time and was able to use slomo to look at things in detail. what an eye opener. parris and hatton were in cahoots. parris letting hatton slide on fouls. nodding to parris to break it up when zoo was starting to get the best on the inside. the tszyu body shot that sent hatton to the canvas should of been called a knockdown.

corrales is asking for it .
