Will Hatton take the easy way out?

    From **********:

July 05, 2005 - Winning a tune up fight in the first round has apparently cost junior welterweight contender Lovemore N'dou the chance to become Ricky Hatton's mandatory challenger. With N'dou out of the picture, Ben Rabah will now face Arturo Morua. Following Ricky Hatton's win over Kostya Tszyu nobody in boxing wants to see Hatton in with any more B level fighters, evidently the IBF doesn't feel the same way. Remember where you heard it first! (12:00 AM)

If Hatton signs on to fight the winner of this fight he will be taking the coward's way out. At the very least, our fellow members that bash Hopkins for taking on mandatories instead of tougher challenges yet praise Hatton's every move will have to change their attitudes one way or another pretty quickly.

    NOT ACCEPTABLE.

but why are the IOBF sanctioning this as an box off to challenge? that sucks.

man, hatton doesnt have to take on floyd in his next fight, that is granted, and an easier nights work in Nov maybe the tonic but these two ??

    its pathetic.

If they don't fight their mandatories don't they lose their belts? If that is the case Hopkins has three different sanctioning bodies who could present him with a mandatory at any given time. Hatton only has one then he can fight whoever he wants. Then we can start to judge him as fighter or a runner...or should I say a wrestler or a runner.

haha, no I remember you being pretty kind to him, especially for a Englishman .

Kostya was fine with letting his titles drop when bull**** mandatories came up so hopefully Hatton will do the same. Unfortunately since he has the one title he might be tempted to hold onto it, and I'm sure Warren will be right behind him, ready to take the easy payday.

If Hatton doesn't want to take on Floyd right away, which is fine, maybe at this point he should go after Maussa. I know that I didn't agree with this matchup before, but with the IBF playing its bull**** games there really are no other options. Have Floyd fight Cotto around the same time and then get the winners to face off...hopefully the bagfulls of cash this type of tournament would bring in will make the fighters forget about the games played by the alphabet groups.

thats my point if hatton has no choice its not his fault.

the ibf suck if they enforce this as a mandatory.

ndou would be acceptable as a soft defence.

if they impose it id go beat the **** out of maussa and tell em to stuff their belt.

and bomb! of course im kind to hopkins, he is one of the best thinking fighters ever to grace the square circle.

As I recall, Witter beat N'dou, so how does N'dou get a shot at Hatton and not Witter? Could it be that Hatton is ducking Witter? Hmmm....quite possibly. As for Cotto and Floyd, according to Arum, he not going allow Cotto to fight Floyd, because he knows that Cotto will be embarrassed.

You know, I hear that in all those other sports, they have these crazy systems where they rank the competitors according to their records and then determine champions by having those that achieved higher ranks play one another in elimination series until a winner and undisputed champion is crowned. I know, sounds insane, right?

there are other reaosns witter is viale opponent, the fact he is a odious little **** who has been hanging onto hatotns coattails for years is just one of them
warrne wouldnt give witer a shot anyway they had a very acrimonious split a few years back and to be honest why should he?

witter should worry botu his own career ans stop belittling RH's victory over KT.

                  blokes a ****.

That's even more of a reason to give him a shot, just to shut his mouth and prove that he's all talk.
