Question to the scottish:

Is Burns a moving, evading boxer like Calderon or a gloves up, type of boxer who jabs all day long and is not afraid of standing there slugging it with the other guy, like Bedak?

If its the first one, Martinez might be in trouble, if its the second then it will end like the Cook fight.

Wow this division sucks. But then again, Martinez-Burns is probably more interesting than the upcoming continuation of the IBF, S. African circle-jerk with Fana and Baloyi.

El campeón superpluma de la Organización Mundial de Boxeo (OMB), Román “Rocky” Martínez, recibió una oferta para arriesgar el cetro ante Ricky Burns en Escocia el próximo 4 de septiembre.

“La oferta (económica) está en la realidad y no es mala. Estamos en el proceso de hablar con el atleta (Martínez) para discutir la propuesta antes de tomar una decisión”, comentó Iván Rivera, presidente de PR Best Boxing, empresa que promueve la carrera del púgil.

“No tenemos inconveniente de viajar hasta Escocia y entendemos que Rocky no debe tener problemas en vencer a Burns”, agregó.

Burns ocupa el primer lugar en las clasificaciones de la OMB en las 130 libras y es el oponente mandatorio de Martínez.

“Queremos evitar que la pelea vaya a subasta ya que eso no le hace bien a los peleadores. La OMB había concedido que Martínez hiciera una defensa opcional que fue la de Gonzalo Mungía en mayo pasado y ahora le corresponde hacer la mandatoria. Ya para la semana que viene debemos tener un panorama más claro”, sostuvo Rivera.

Desde que Martínez conquistó la corona en marzo de 2009, lo ha defendido exitosamente en dos ocasiones

Damn, what's up with these Ricans fighting guys with low KO ratios here lately? Lopez against Luevano who has no pop. The bum Vasquez Jr. just fought. And now this guy Martinez is fighting only has 7 KOs unless that story Ch@mp just posted is true.
