i know it didn't happen the next day, but testing 10x over the limit after a post fight test...who knows, could've still been in his system, ironmike there mentions who they only recently started drug testing, so how good/popular were the masking agents for boxers at the time?
It hurts me to acknowledge Roy Jones Jr as a cheater.

can't your read?
no
skills = technique
steroids in no way shape or form gives you better technique, you can get the exact same technique training clean
it only improves strenght(some giving you stamina)
in terms of anything else, steroids wont help you get what you can't already get clean(speed, athleticism and skills)Comment

Agreed. And people forget...the reason why Jones testing positive wasn't a major deal was because it was covered up. It was never announced, never reported, nothing. It wasn't until a few years later when Richard Hall mentioned it that it became known. Had he not said anything, it would've been buried.
BTW, cong**** to those who are pulling the race card on this thread. You guys are proving that big thread yesterday true.Comment

two twins, same genetic make up, work their quickness of hand at same intensity, at their peak in terms of speed(which actually is achieved early compared to the rest, if you've ever boxed)
one takes roids and works at it for 3 hours, the other works it for 2 hours, who's faster?
no one, they are exactly the same, the non-roider is probabley faster actually
will it change their punching technique/skills? doubt it, they are gonna punch the way they always punched
will it improve their reflexes? doubt it, muscles dont effect the messengers
will it improve your atleticism? doubt it, steroids have nothin to do with co-ordination, athleticism is a gene and a level of intelligence afterall, i doubt roids would helpComment

Andro isn't a steroid in the typical sense. IIRC, it's actually a prohormone, and while quite similar to steroids, is not quite the whole thing. Apparently, Roy claims he took "Ripped Fuel", which he bought from a GNC. I won't hold that against him, when you look at all his accomplishments. At the same time though, I will say this: Roy is still to this day, one of the most ripped boxers I've ever seen. I know boxers train religiously, but he's just on another level. The guy is yoked like no other. Same with Manny Pacquiao, which is why I'll always hold these guys under steroid su****ion. I used to think the same thing about Shane Mosley, and sure enough he was on all sorts of stuff.Think about it, boxers don't have to perform but 3 times a year. There is so much time in b/t you've got plenty of time to cycle 1 or 2 times in your entire career. Muscles have memory and most serious athletes are willing to experiment at least once whether its Winstrol, Deca, or HGH.He tested positive for a a banned substance, he was also 6x over the legal limit (hall was 10x over the limit), which implies that what ever he took was in a concentrated form. I also noticed how big he was especially in the Griffen II and Hall fights
On top of all of this what people have to understand is that neither Jones or Hall expected to get tested either, drug testing for roids only started in 2002. That state (forgot which one) was clearly aheadof thier time when they started testing that early, 2000
Some interesting points here, we also have to remember that he went to HW and looked ripped like a mofo. I have worked out for years naturally, and whilst you get initial gains in muscle/weight, that slows down when you have\developed your physique to its limits, after that you are lucky to put on 4lbs a year, much less keep a body that shows no sign of fat around the hips or stomach, lets not forget that Roy was a 160 pound fighter, not a particularly tall one either.
It is worth pointing out that i used to have a book called weight lifting for dummies, and in it, it did seem to suggest that occasionally things that have not been thoroughly tested can end up on the shelves at these GNC stores etc, words to that effect anyway, i think.Comment
