what a dumb thread with dumb argument to start things off

i dont understand how idiots who cant even formulate good arguments for their case has the ability to post on the internet

so you're saying roach is overrated because he was an uknown trainer prior to 2000 and steward has been training great fighters before roach has. how does that indicate that steward is a better trainer? i could easily make the case for other trainers being older than steward and call steward overrated.

now you say steward formulates better strategies in fights better than roach. really? name me a good example cuz this argument is ******ed as hell. boxing is a dynamic sport and more often trainers makes adjustments to their fighters game and theres no knowing or definite measure as to how trainers contribute a boxers gameplan. there are boxers who work with their trainer to get that gamplan and there are trainers who dictate gameplans to boxers (which isnt exactly practiced most of the time)

fact. roach's fighters beat beristeins and transformed a sluggish amateur in pac to what he is now.

fact. there are many champions in roach's stead than any other trainers in the sport right now.

fact. roach is the most active trainer in boxing now and has a plethora of boxing knowledge to share. he even has dvd's and regarded as the best.

name one example where steward gave a better gameplan than roach's? come on defend your case

saying another trainer is better than another is ignorant, both deserved their accomplishments and their achievements span in different boxing eras. roach is the best trainer today and does has deserved so looking at his resume now.

I'll just put it this way.....

Rid**** Bowe, Lennox Lewis and Vitali Klitschko only have 5 combined losses between them, Emanuel Steward was the opposite trainer in 3 of those 5 losses.

things like this happen in boxnig.

in boxing the truth will always be in front of your eyes. but it's yourself or whoever as a person that is creating the difficulty. example, floyd is the best boxer on the planet. But a pac fan, believing the daily hype and chattering with other pac fans, seriously believes he can contend with floyd...lol, all I gotta say is I'm going to be 5000.00 richer after they fight, if they fight...because im putting money on floyd because I know he will win for a fact...pac beat some decent guys but floyd is just a different kinda being...pacman is a flash in the pan

Manny Steward had 5 guys in a period of about 5 years (Thomas Hearns, Milton McCrory, Hilmer Kenty, Jimmy Paul and Duane Thomas) who he trained everyday from amatuers all the way to World Champions. He also trained Milton's brother Steve to an Olympic Gold Medal in 1984... how many Gold Medal winners has Roach been at the Olympics with?

Somebody please name 5 guys that Freddie Roch trained as amatuers all the way up until they were world champs. I'm guessing you won't be able to name very many. Truth of the matter is that Roach never earned his reputation the hard way like Steward did, bringing poor kids off the street into a basement gym and molding them into men.

Roach's whole reputation is off the back of one fighter, Manny. He now gets plenty of ready made fighters who want to train under him. He gives them a couple pointers, they win a fight they were gonna win anyway, and people give Roach all the credit.

Steward also trained guys like McClellan and Moorer when they were at the very best. Roach has a lot to do to ever have a resume that even comes close to comparing to Stewards.

Steward did an amazing job with Taylor. He would not have gotten to where he did without Steward. He was a great athlete but not a good boxer.

But I think freddie roach has the sickness thing going for him as well. I don't mean this in a bad way but that's how it is in the news world.
A guy overcoming an illness to make someone a champion fighter ..hey

his work with lewis at the end of his carrer was tremendous you look at the fight against tyson and against klitschko you can not tell that was a fighter out of his prime.his work with chavez was also Great after julio sufering a draw and 2 dificult fights against randall peopel had him finished and steward help him fight a very good tough fight against taylor in 1994 that julio looked like the julio of 1990 that disapeard for 4 years he could of prevent julio's terrible downfall.and what about COTTO the "damage goods" Fighter people said where were those damage goods we didnt see a single sign in his fight that steward traing him.steward is a guy who basically gets fighter great fighters who have sufer seriosu deafets and gets them back to where they were before.
