I'm concerned about the numbers projecting forward. What is the common phrase attached to this fight. "It will be the biggest fight of all-time". Not of the decade or the past 50 years, but of all-time. The estimates are mind blowing. 3-4 million ppv buys, possible close to 5 million. That would be double the current highest selling fight of all-time(Oscar vs Floyd). How is that possible? Why could this fight not just break records, but shatter them into a million ****ing pieces? It's a simple answer people. The answer is the two men who will be fighting. Those numbers only become a reality if you have the #1A and #1B best and most popular fighters on the planet going at it. Only possible if one superstar and icon is standing across the ring from another superstar and icon. There is no other way. Floyd can't approach those numbers without Manny and Manny can't do it without Floyd. Floyd has been the A-side for his past 3 fights and the best he has done is 1.4 million. The best Manny has done is 1.2 million. These guys have a ceiling by themselves, but together they could be limitless. They are equal in importance, so they should be equal in reward. Quit disrespecting Manny Pacquiao. Give him his 50%!!!!!!!!!!
Oscar couldn't have gotten to 2.4 mil without Floyd correct? Oscar didn't approach those numbers without Floyd and Floyd didn't without Oscar(by a much greater degree). Did FMJ get anywhere near 50%?? NO! It didn't matter what he accomplished in the ring. It didn't matter how big it was projected to be. It didn't matter he was p4p. None of that mattered. What mattered was WHO WAS THE BIGGEST DRAW! That's the way that is and has been. So now, why should the normal way or gauging the fighters value be changed? Because its Pac? He and Hatton were comparable in popularity and yet, he didn't want to give 50% to Hatton.
Yes, they are of equal importance in the making of the fight. But their PPV historys show that its more likely that more people will tune in because of the name FMJ, than Manny Pacquiao. Not to mention that Floyd will be doing the LION SHARE of the promoting.
I just don't understand how u can see the disrespect for Pac, but u don't feel that changing the way that normal negotiations work, everyday, all over the world, isn't disrespectful to Floyd.
I want to get this fight done, but I can also understand Floyd wanting more. I'm sure he feels like "Why should I? When I was in that position, I had to accept a smaller percentage, so why shouldnt he? Who is Pacman, to ask for parody?" I do wish however, he would just give him the 50% to get the fight done, then take that extra 10% out of Pac's ass during the fight.Last edited by megadeth; 06-22-2010, 12:23 PM.

They are both the top draws in the game. 50/50 is more than fair. People are not paying to see one guy more than the other. They're paying to see both guys square off in the ring. Case closed.

oscar couldn't get to 2.4 w/o floyd, and vice-versa.......
that didn't entitle floyd to a 50-50 split with oscar.

it's just a matter of preference really. as a pacfan i don't really care if for example pac would agree that floyd would get a bigger share, say 52-48 or even 55-45. i am not getting any money out of it anyway, in fact i'll be shelling out my own money to watch the fight so they can have whatever sharing they want. all i want is for the fight to happen that's all.
i just don't understand why some floyd fans are more concerned about floyd not giving in to 50-50 sharing than for the fight to happen. so what if its 50-50? floyd will still earn the most money he can possibly earn his entire career. it wouldn't diminish anything about floyd and his reputation as a fighter. in fact it will even add more positive things to floyd.

This post makes too much sense EXCEPT to the fanboys of the world who actually think they will make a percentage of the take.
