Chavez Jr, under Roach, should make a really good career.

Riding his fathers jock? Naw that's Bob Arum doing that for money, you're mixing the two up. Julio has never said he was this great fighter and has been humble, Bob Arum has done the hyping. He's under Arum, his father was under Don King. Duddy had an amateur career, Jr did'nt.

Let's call his 40 first fights his "amateur" fights because seriously he's only fought bums. Vanda was the only guy with a desent record, and he loast the first fight eventhough they drew. Now Duddy is no pushover, so if he gets by duddy in a legit way meaning via KO TKO UD then I will pay attention. But as of now I'm not sold on him or his brother for that matter.

That's exactly what I've said in past post's and threads, those fights were kinda like an amateur career with a grossly outdated trainer (his uncle). I'm looking to see what he's gonna do in the future. This is the first fight under Roach, so like I said I'm not expecting much, he's still got a lot to learn. But people should stop listening to Bob Arum, he's a crook. The kid wants to fight the best, and eventually IMO, Roach can get him there.

          "Not expecting much"

          "Got a lot to learn"

          "Eventually....."

Well that fact of the matter is that the kid, solely because of his name, is now rated #1 by the WBC.

How long exactly will he be able to hold that ranking without fighting someone with a pulse?

You can't have it both ways.

He doesn't have 5 more fights or 3 more years to find out if he is ready for someone who actually knows how to box.

The first time he gets in the ring with a real top-5 fighter at any weight he is going to get bludgeoned.

havent seen anything impressive about this kid. I'm sure he's had the best training and coaching in the world because of his dad, but being an elite boxer comes from within.

You need to be blessed with talent.

I did'nt say I agreed with him being rated #1 WBC. That's some Don Jose bull****. Those ratings are all corrupted, especially the WBC. Kids got a lot of potential but should'nt be fighting for a championship, he's only got 40 fights in his whole life, a normal fighter has about 200, amateur and pros. When jr went pro he was still hitting puberty, he's only 23. You sound like you're following all the hype Arum is putting out there. You guys gotta look past all the promoter bull****. Although I don't believe he should be hosting his own PPV's, but then again that's Bob Arum's doing.

I believe he's blessed with talent, but the training and coaching? It's the exact opposite. He's had the worst, untill now, with Roach. He was training like his father did, spar everyday and then drink beer and bull****. Now that he's with Roach, I believe he's gonna start getting serious. All that time was'nt waisted, but undeveloped.
