Pretty much a bust. Home town fighters always win (if they should or not) and the winner is going to be a guy who does nothing but head butt and hold. It could have been great.

Other than Froch-Dirrell, I've enjoyed every matchup so far. The tournament is great for boxing. Only beef was the decision in the Froch-Dirrell fight. Other than that, no problems. I wish all divisions would follow suit. The fact that it ain't PPV makes it that much better.

it's been so-so so far. we've had a couple of great fights (AD-AA and MK-CF), a couple decent ones (AD-CF and AA-JT), and a couple of unbearable ones (AW-MK and AW-AG). it's been both a bust and a success. and from the look of the style matchups in stage 3, it's gonna be interesting.

          I think it's a solid event.

          PRO:
          - Most of the best 168 participate.
          - Two belts and the SMW crown are on the line, and I expect the RING magazine to throw in a belt at the finals, too.
          - It brings the spotlight to the rather solid division.
          - At least in Europe, it's a good selling event.

          CON:
          - The timeline is too far stretched (max. 3 months between rounds would have been better, finishing the first round within a year).
          - Controversial decisions, some with hometown stench,
          - bickering about the locations, and several injury related delays
          - Tayler getting replaced.

          Pro and Con:
          - A LOT of "Zero loss" resummees are on the line (Froch, Abraham, Dirrell already lost theirs)
          - but the losers are in exciting rematches right away.

There has been some good drama. Abraham knocking out Taylor,Dirrell Winning on DQ and then the rumble Froch and Kessler had.
Abraham-Froch is the pick of the next round.

its been great, mainly cuz they brought in such diffrent fighters, both in terms of styles and the place they were in their career at the start of the tournament.

the reigning champion and favourite kessler, the undefeated champion froch, the undefeated champion abraham coming up in weight, the former undisputed champion and superstar taylor looking to get his career back on track, and then two undefeated olympians.

then the styles, dirrell and abraham both have a quite unique style, ward the pure boxer and thinker, taylor the physical phenomenon, froch the brawler, kessler the easter european style boxer-puncher.. so many interesting stylistic matchups and they have been a cause to a few upsets already.

and the fights have been great overall, both quality and drama. and after the next round when two get eliminated the quality will take another step up and the drama too, especially if there are rematches.

It's been alright to watch. No amazing fights so far, but most of them have been entertaining.

In the grand scheme of things it has been a big success, though - it's brought together a bunch of European and American venues, together with a healthy mix of European and American fighters. Plus, it's rejuvinated a previously dead division.

I think its Solid so far. Its great for boxing but not all fights were great so far because of Ward and the Green replacement. Wards dirty boring style i dont like. I just hope that somebody beats him, i dont want to see this guy as the winner of this tournament.

I think seeing fighter personalities on shows like fc360 make fighters so much more watchable and i also think that bute not being is good in a way because it leaves something after the tournament.
