    hopkins vs bute

is this a bad idea for bute? hopkins appeared to be on his way out of the sport in his last fight, but i read about this being a possibility. i still think hopkins is a threat to anyone, and we all have counted hopkins out before and been horribly wrong.

however, bute is a big step up from pavlik and roy jones. how do you guys see this fight going down? i want to pick bute to take it, but idk man - seeing b-hop dismantle pavlik when everyone thought he was finished, just makes me wonder...

I think Bute would take a UD.

Hopkins isn't as old in boxing terms as most men his age, but he's clearly several years past his prime. The Pavlik performance was great, but even that was almost 2 years ago. Bute is big, skilled, fast, hard-punching and has good footwork. Hopkins might make him look bad but he wouldn't win.

It'd be Calzaghe-Hopkins all over again, with the latter crying about another dirty SD loss for years to come.
