Dirrell vs Ward Is Basically For The Super 6 Championship

These two guys have already proven they are better than the rest of the field.

Yet due to the robbery of Dirrell in England he will be eliminated with a loss to Ward despite the fact that he is clearly better than 2 guys who will move on instead (Froch and Abraham).

If Dirrell doesn't win this fight there will be no drama in the remaining Super 6 fights, it will just be a couple mere formalities on the way to Ward being crowned king of the division.

Also, if Dirrell is eliminated he can then fight Lucian Bute on HBO for big money.

Judging by the insanely out of control opinions of Bute I am pretty sure that at least here at boxingscene that Dirrell-Bute would be a much bigger and much more anticipated fight than any of the remaining semi-final and final fights in the Super 6.

Seriously who would prefer watching Ward-Kessler 2 to watching Lucian Bute finally tested against a guy who is capable of dodging a punch?

Yeah that's what I was thinking. This is a matchup of basically the two best fighters in the Super Six. No need for anything else. But it wouldn't be fair if Dirrell got eliminated because he was robbed against Froch, someone who doesn't even deserve to be in the semifinals. Abraham would easily wipe out Kessler, Green and Froch and we've already seen Dirrell dominate Abraham for 11 rounds straight, and if Dirrell can do it, then Ward surely can.

I'd rather see Bute-Dirrell for the championship.

I agree, as long as Dirrell can keep the distance, which he can with his jab, move around the ring to stop consistent clinching & throw a good amount of punches, he'll win be decision IMO.

The Super 6 really needs Dirrell to win. If he does it will likely be a closely contested fight and one that will create a highly anticipated rematch.

If Dirrell does lose to Ward the only chance that he continues will be if Arthur Abraham knocks Froch out so badly that he cant continue in the tourney.

As it is I think we are going to see some problems in the next round with the European Promoters crying about having to come to America to fight Ward in his hometown.

I just hope this whole thing doesn't fall apart. Froch is already showing that is going to be a whiny ***** about every single fight location and the Sauerlands are gonna be bitches about sending Abraham or Kessler after the way they both got humiliated the last time they crossed the Atlantic.

I was also thinking about this and for a quick second I was like damn if Dirrell losses he is screwed out of the tourney. Then I remembered that if he does lose, HBO will certainly be calling for Dirrell V Bute. IMO, we really need to enjoy Ward V Dirrell because it is setting up like the modern day Hopkins V Jones. Even if Ward wins the tourney and Dirrell goes on to Bute, I don't think they will rematch right away. If it plays out that way, they both will be pretty big stars and it will be a fight that takes major building. All in all though it looks like American boxing is going to be better than ever. Dirrell V Ward rivalry and Alexander V Bradley, although I think Khan could throw a snag into that one but no one is going to be talented enough to mess with the Dirrell V Ward rivalry.

Draw is the best result, Dirrell advances and they can rematch later on. Ward remains undefeated too.

See I've been thinking about it for months. Dirrell loses out to Froch on head to head tiebreaker and Kessler and Abraham are going to have 4 or 5 pts each respectively.

That being said if Dirrell loses to Ward and then goes on to beat Bute the boxing fans will be going nuts for a rematch.

With the Super 6 going on for another year or so that would give the Ward-Dirrell or Ward-Bute fight hype enough time to build up to a fever pitch.

This is why everyone should be irate over that bull**** decision Froch got over Dirrell. Froch is the 2nd worst fighter in this thing by a mile, yet he has a better chance of advancing than Dirrell? How pathetic is that? I hope Froch gets destroyed beyond belief against Abraham.

Showtime has to be sick to their stomach at the idea of Dirrell dropping out and Froch advancing.

It will really hurt the appeal of the rest of the matches if Dirrell loses to Ward and is out on his ass.
