Very rare. Most Pacquiao fans followed boxing after 2009
Let me tell you something. Most true boxing fans are a fan of Pacman of sorts! I am a true boxing fan and have been following objectively and religlously since 1989!
My point is you are totally narrow minded if you think you have to be a ******* to be a fan of pac. My other point is, all these people that are not a fan at all of what pacman does are 1 thing! And that is nuthugging *****S!!!!! Not that I have anything against *****s. A few of them are my friends and they can hang around with me if they want!
It is really hilarious how the Pacquiao fans criticise Floyd all the time, calling him a Cherrypicker and other names while overrating and overhyping Pacquiao, well lets see who the real cherry picker, lets go back in history:
Even though Pacquiao has been knocked out twice early in his career by some unknown fighters, I give him credit for where he is right now.... I mean the guy instantly became from zero to hero, but still he is getting vastly overrated now.
Pacquiao fought Erik Morales past his prime three times, and each time Morales was coming off a Loss on his record including the first time to Barrera and Second time to Zahir Raheem.
Cherry Picking? I think so...
Just Look at Pacquiao's FACE when he saw Morales lost to Zahir Raheem at 09:20 of this Video:
Out of the three times he faced a past prime Morales he lost ONCE to a past prime Erik Morales, anyone with a brain knows Morales had been in wars prior to fighting Pacquiao and everyone thought he wasnt the same fighter he once was but he STILL managed to beat Pacquiao in the first fight and thats a credit to the greatness of El Terrible.
Pacquiao has been carefully matched with the opponents that are tailor made for his style, we know a slick counterpuncher would beat Pacquiao this is why he did not face Zahir Raheem, he was having nightmares of what Marquez did with his counterpunching skills.
Most people in their true minds know Pacquiao Lost not once, but TWICE to Marquez, Especially in the second fight, their is no way someone can score that fight for Pacquiao without being a pacquiao fan, meaning only pacquiao fans or filipinos think Pacquiao won the second fight whilst most neutral boxing fans know Marquez won both fights against Pacquiao, the first one was closer, but the 2nd one Marquez clearly won it, Pacquiao only got away with 2 losses against Marquez with it because of his popularity.
The last time Oscar made the Welterweight limit was in 2001, 9 Years ago against Arturo Gatti. In other words Pacquiao fought a dead man in front of him who hadnt fought at this weight for almost a DECADE, Like him being past his prime wasnt enough? But Weight drain him too?
Anyway...We thought this was only a one off deal because we werent sure if Pacquiao was really that good at the higher weights, but when he beat Oscar and Hatton, why did he face Miguel Cotto at a catchweight of 145? I mean as if it wasnt enough that Cotto was possibly damaged by a man who used plaster of paris in his fight, In other words cotto was taking plaster for 11 rounds. That wasnt enough, you want to weight drain the guy too? Jeez..
BTW most of you probably know this, but for the some of you who dont, the weight drained versions of Oscar and Cotto Pacquiao was fighting were stylistically good match-ups in his favour, this is why I dont understand why didnt pacquiao fight them at their best? I think he would have beaten them and got credit for it and rightfully so. But instead he tried to get all advantages each time even though he is the P4P #1...The reason why they were good match-ups because Cotto and Oscar De La Hoya are Natural Lefties, their best punch is the left hook. Natural lefties who fight in an Orthodox stance,
Even Marco Antonio Barrera is a natural Lefty who fights Orthodox...
The punch that Pacquiao hates the most is the Straight right hand, and Marquez and Morales who are Natural Righties had success with it because they are Right handed Counter punchers. Cotto and De La Hoya dont have good straight right hand, like I said before careful matchmaking played a part in it...Now lets see Floyd Mayweather, a fighter who has the BEST STRAIGHT RIGHT Hand, and is a better counterpuncher than Marquez or Morales, Faster than them and basicly better in every boxing category you want to name.
Now do you guys believe why this fight didn't happen in November or March? Pacquiao wants no part of Mayweather even if him and his team like to pretend. In November it was "We agree to the testing" then later on it was "We dont agree to 24 days before the fight" and then in March when they were offered a 50-50 split and 14 day window, they fought Joshua Clottey.
When Mayweather-Mosley did 1.4 million buys (Higher than Pacquiao's highest PPV number which was 1.25 million against the Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya) then they agreed to the 14 day window after they saw Floyd is the bigger draw.
Pacquiao fans like to comment on Floyd's personal life but what about him claiming to be religious while cheating on his wife? Or his connections with the Mafia? I honestly think Floyd is an honest guy, he isn't fake, he is willing to admit he fights for the money, other fighters pretend they fight for the legacy, but deep down everyone fights for the money. Do you guys Remember Pacquiao's negotiations vs Cotto, Hatton and De La Hoya?
Do you guys Remember Mayweather's negotiations with Hatton and De La Hoya? Compare the two...And you will know who is harder to negotiate with
Conclusion: Careful matchmaking, Catchweights, Fighting fighters after they are coming off losses, and fighting past their prime fighters have all been a part of where Manny Pacquiao is right now. Pacquiao's team has done a great job on him, they aren't as dumb as people think they are, the casual fans are being decieved because they dont know the background story, while the hardcore fans know everything that is happening.
Notice I am saying hardcore fans, the same fans who put boxing before any fighter, they are fan of the sport FIRST, and then the fighter, not the other way around like in the case of Pacquiao and his fans.
i like this post.. this makes Pacman his legacy true evertime he kicks ass in
Silly thread with the person thinking he is smart and knows something people dont know.
PBF picks his fights carefully. Fighting small jmm, past it SSM and hatton at 147......i could go on.
Clottey and Cotto his last victimes dont think he is overrated.
Great job bumping your thread ****ing piece of **** 2010 join date . Why the **** do 2010 members always bump their old ****ty threads ? stop ****ing doing it ******. . Seems your doing this with more than just one thread haha what a ****ing spamming attention whore .
I don't understand how the p4p #1 & #2 fighters in the world be considered overrated, but if people can make the arguement for one then they could easily for the other. In the end, i hope we get to see just who the best is in the ring, but I honestly don't think either is overrated.
