Had some non-boxing fan friends over last night, and frankly I was embarrassed.

I'm one of the biggest boxing fans ever, and we had a dinner party last night that happened to be on the same night as the fight, so I had the fight on while my guests were here. They couldn't believe how bad the Ward/Green fight was. I don't think I've done this in a while, but I turned off the TV at round 6 it was so bad. I had no interest in watching the rest whatsoever. They just looked at me and said this is the worst thing I've ever seen.

They don't hate boxing, but that fight didn't help.

    Thoughts?

it was pretty bad i wasn't expecting corrales castillo though

another night i stayed up to watch some bull**** what with williams v cintron and pacquiao clottey the most enjoyable fights i have seen live recently was cotto vs foreman and martinez v pavlik and they weren't exactly incredible

ward's hitting and holding combined with green being a complete disgrace to the sport made for a snore fest i don't blame you for switching it off

Yeah the fight really ******. Green didn't come to fight and Ward didn't have the power to knock him out.

Also im confused by Dirrel what ethnicity is he? Is he black or white or latino?

Honestly man, if you are going to have friends over who are just casual fans (if that) pick and choose the right event to have them over to appreciate it.

For example, it would be senseless for anyone to get wild up for a fight that would include fighters that are albeit counter punchers/pure boxers.

i.e : let's just say hypothetically Winky Wright and say Spinks.

A good choice would be having your friends over with two opponents that are offensive/ aggressive. i.e Manny/Cotto, Shane/Floyd, (Though Floyd is more pure boxer) any fights that include Juanma and Gamboa.

Whatever you do, do not invite your friends over for a Bernard Hopkins fight, they would never let you here the end of their boredom.

          I hope this helps.

I had a few people over too and they were thoroughly deflated by around the 7th round. They were nice enough to finish the fight, but nobody was moved.

If I actually paid for that, I would've felt ripped off.

I would have told people beforehand that this was not going to be an entertaining fight.

Hell I had people over during the Kessler fight and I said it straight up that Ward is sometimes boring, and it might not be a good fight.
