what has green done to make him the favorite other then get beat by miranda and ward? kessler showed he is a better the average fighter when he beat froch a fight that kessler clearly won in my opinion and also when he beat the **** out of andrade a guy who should have a ko win over bute. im not saying kessler green is a easy fight for kessler but going in he should be a solid favorite

I don't mind him being a favorite and know for sure that he will be after Kessler is off of a win and Green off of a loss but ppl were talking about Kessler retiring after the Ward loss and calling him a hypejob too.....

My point is its a different fight and he doesn't present the same problems Ward does and is not so diverse, kind of basic really in his approach so its not as if he can't compete with anyone at all in the tourney based on 1 loss to a now proven guy.

yeah people put too much stock in a fighters most recent performance and you either become a bum or are an atg right after the fight.i also agree with your point that styles make fights and because of that this fight is somewhat of a toss up but going in green hasnt shown me anything to pick him to win and kessler has.

I'm just saying, Ward's ability was being sorely overlooked by the people who thought Green was this big threat to him.

The bold is exactly my point.

People who picked Green just did it because they're prejudiced against Ward and want him to lose. They know Ward is one of the best fighters in the sport and they can't accept that, just like how they all hate Floyd and will root for anyone to beat him.

I knew that Ward had the superior skill and was more diverse but thought Green would be skilled and fast enough to tag him more frequently maybe landing a shot good enough to hurt Ward.

Why posters just jump to the conclusion that Green is no good IDK????

i wouldnt say he is no good but in his 2 biggest fights he did nothing and thats the bottom line its not like he fought a world beater in miranda either and still he came up short.

It is well known that physically the guy was in pretty bad shape for the Miranda fight and still managed to knock him down and hey Ward was just better tonight......like I said before Kessler did no better really and against Ward, got busted up, and didn't even make it all 12 rounds.
