Oscar was using lateral movement, to stop Tito from planting his feet and throwing bombs. He would then do a "Leonard" and trade at the last 30 seconds to "win" the round. He was actually landing the cleaner punches during the first 2/3 of the fight. His mistake was that he thought he had the fight in the bag, so he ran for the last 2-3 rounds.Comment

At most I would say Oscar gave away the last 2 rounds, to make the fight closer than it should of been. Even if he had got the nod he basically embarrassed himself for fighting like that.
Any way Hopkins strategy was basically a variation of Oscar strategy using feints and lateral movement to stop Tito from getting set. He also used the jab as well to break Tito's rhythm, If I remember correctly, Tito would plant his right foot before throwing a punch. So Hopkins jabbed him every time he planted his right foot.Comment
