Agreed. Pascal is a game and skilled opponent. Bad Chad has fought many of the best fighters in the division and won clearly (and also repeatedly).

IF Dawson beats Cloud then Dawson should get major props and say he cleared the division.



If dawson wins those fights (pascal & cloud) why should he go down? Many of the super six guys will be going up in weight. Froch already said he's gonna go up after the tournament. I can see both Ward & Dirrell going up too and Bute has fought at LH.

Dawson is young. Big fights will come to him. He should make his own legacy, do like what Bernard Hopkins did - clean out the division, unify and the big fights come eventually. Now he's considered one of the greatest MW of all time. Dawson could do that at LH (if he keeps winning of course).

What has cloud done to even be considered to be in a position to be the ring champ? Its about time bad chad gets the recognition he deserves. When Chad was @ 168 nobody wanted it so he went to 175 and had to settle for Tarver and Johnson, both twice and he beat up Adamek!(who's beating top heavies right now).B-Hop, Roy and Calzaghe wanted no parts of him so I dont wanna hear about he's ducking Cloud.

well I was hoping that Cloud vs Dawson would end up being for the Ring Belt. I'm afraid that if Cloud wins and Dawson has the ring belt etc., he may not have much motivation to fight cloud and try and fight some other "bigger money" type of guy.

Honestly I think Dawson WOULD look into fighting Bute more than Cloud.

Fighting Bute and winning would equal more recognition and more money.

I'm not saying Cloud is an easier challenge, but I just see Dawson fighting Bute instead of Cloud.

This is a more objective post than a lot of the others I've seen from other people I suppose. At least you admit that if Cloud beats Johnson he will have earned a shot at Dawson's title.

This is going to be a gr8 damn fight. Pascal can easily pull the upset via KO and Chad can outbox him for 12. I always lean toward skill but after what pascal overcame against the shark(a fight I have yet to actually see) I wont doubt the man.

But pascal did lose to froch, a bum I might add.

Couldn't agree more. And it's good to have you in this thread because I know you are a big advocate of what the Ring should and should not do and it's well documented you even wrote for it. What do you think of this decision before letting the Johnson-Cloud fight play it's course? Especially given that the fight is before the Dawson-Pascal fight which would give Dawson the ability to become champion without having to fight the guy ranked #2 if Johnson is unable to defeat Cloud?
