I think the point the TS is trying to make is that, Floyd is lambasted for doing so while Manny, even though he is the same way, has a completely opposite image. But this is how the media influences perception.

    thankyou..............i ddn't have the words..........

Both of them are no different from any "PRIZE" fighter. I certainly don't begrudge Pac for fighting Cotto over SSM. It was a business decision that made all the sense in the world. Ditto Hatton and ODLH. Yet Floyd can't make the same decision without having ducked every other fighter in the division.

All the pro fighters fight for money. Some may care more about their legacy and the fans, than others, but all of them fight for money.

Why the hell would you get punched in the face for a living, in a sport with a pretty high percentage of fighters who will suffer health consequences but have no 401k plan, NOT care a lot about money?

Most of these fighters have families you know.

Pacquiao/Hatton almost fell apart because of the 50/50 purse split. It appeared off and then it was back on when Pacquiao got a 52/48 split.

Ancient history though. Hard to remember the bygone era of early 2009.

                    Great Logic.
If he fights for legacy and to entertain fans. money should not be a big hold up in making the fight. after all he'll still get paid and we fight fans will be entertained....

Also, Pacquiao thought that a 70-30 split wasn't good enough to fight Oscar De La Hoya despite it being the biggest payday to date of his life. Pacquiao wanted a 60-40 split???
