Cotto faced a better Mosley. Mosley was old against PBF but Floyd still gets my credit

Based on the poll, it was Miguel, of course. But not by too much. Anyways, Vernon beat the very best version of Shane.

i so not dispute ODLH was not in his prime against Mayweather, but floyd beat him easily as a welterweight with Roach in his corner = no credit......yet somehow people want us to believe a severly weight drained and emaciated ODLH against Pac at 147 is an impressive victory..........it's not!!!
Cotto fights like he did the last few rounds only when he feels like he is in some kind of trouble. Had you ever seen him fight like that before the Mosley fight? The only time that I really saw it done more often was against Margo and Manny. See the pattern? Mosley could have done it but he was gassed. His father pleaded with him but Msoley couldn't step it up to the notch required to do it.

Against Floyd, he never went into any kind of intense level after the second round since he gassed himself out soon thereafter. Even though he did nothing after the 2nd round compared to his previous fights. Mosley stated he was so close to winning in that second round. So he shouldn't have been that discouraged. For a prime Mosley that would have been enough to try up to the 12th round. In the 7th round, check what Mosley and his corner say. He was finished by then. That is not the same Mosley that used to finish his fights strong.

I agree that Mosley destroyed Margarito but Margo was better suited for him especially at Mosley's age. Then he waited 1.5 years before Mosley fought again .... against Floyd. Even a young Floyd picked an easier fight after his time off, as his fans agreed was smart to do by their comments. Also, at Mosley's age, every year that goes by is like dog years. Between Margo and Floyd, 1.5 dog years went by .......You can decline and look your age in your next fight.

Cotto. Mosley was younger, and he had a huge layoff before the Mayweather fight.

Yes, Floyd might have had something to do with it but you need to remember that both Mosley and Oscar were past their prime.

Mosley almost 39 and had big time ring rust. That's a no no at any age but at 39, it's not good!

Oscar (vs Floyd) was busier being Golden Boy Productions than DelaHoya. Since his loss to Hopkins in 2004, he only had a 6 round fight with Mayorga. Floyd fought him in 2007. Freddy Roach used the fight against Floyd as the reason why Manny may have the chance to win. "Oscar couldn't pull the trigger anymore".

Both have been hit by heavier punchers than Floyd yet they both were able to dish it back against their opponents. That is, relatively speaking, they put a better showing for a full 12 rounds. Even if they would miss, they still went at it for a full 12 rounds.

Go back to Mosley vs Cotto. Cotto hit him with vicious shots. That didn't stop Mosley from trying to hit back after 2 rounds. Mosley was not the Mosley we know even against Cotto but he was closer than he was against Floyd.
Excellent Post!!!! I was gonna say it until I saw your post. You are right on the money wether or not some people want to recognize this, it's the truth. Oscar was a shadow of his old self, and Shane lets face it is also aproaching the end of a long career. Shane is a great fighter but was made to look like a tougher match with the way he beat Margarito. Although it was a good win, it was 1 1/2 prior and against a tailor made fighter that wasn't gonna move ansd stand right in front of Shane the whole fight.

                      Once again good post!!!!
