Yes , i said it . I'll post this after the fight ...
I doubt it.
Green is a smart fighter and he has a lot of power, but he doesn't have a great chin himself and his conditioning probably isn't as good as Ward's. On top of that, Green talks about forcing Ward to fight in spots where Ward does not want to fight. It's good that Green recognizes this. He's a smart fighter and he picks up on nuances well. The problem is that while Green doesn't clinch the way Ward does all he does is stand behind a high guard and feint.
Pace is always important. It's usually controlled by the fighter with the better jab or the more accurate punching combined with better footwork. Personally, I think Ward has Green in all of those categories. Even if he doesn't, it's not like Green fights at a fast pace. He fights methodically looking and waiting for openings. Ward will give him some, but the slow pace is going to limit a the number of times Green will be able to take advantage of his power.
Then late in the fight conditioning will be a key. If Ward is fresh and Green tires then the difference in power won't be a big deal then either. To avoid that scenario Green would have to either force Ward into many exchanges or do a lot of body work. When was the last time you saw Allan Green forcing lots of exchanges round after round and digging shots to the body on the regular?
If Green wins it will be a monumental upset. Green is, well, the most green fighter in the supersix. He faces the best fighter in the division and he happens to fight in said fighters hometurf. All fights in the tournament have so far been won by the homeboy.
The dark horse might be Ward's knees. Are they in order to move around for 12 rounds?
Of course there has been a bit of everything so far in the tournamentbut I think it's a safe bet to say that Green is in for a beating.

In response to the point about Ward's knee. My opinion on the matter is that he started fighting in range and diving in and clinching to avoid having to use the knee much. He figures to use his legs a bit more than normal against Green just because Green has so much power, but I think Ward will also smother the power a lot to avoid any complications with the knee and to conserve energy for the late rounds.
Ward is an excellent Boxer, true he can hold a little too much, but a well equipped fighter nonetheless. I mean what is Green even doing in this tournament?
I know all that and agree Green doesnt belong in the tourney I just couldnt resist.
If he can avoid those devastating headbutts, he might beat him. Green only wins by KO, he doesn't have it in him to decision Ward IMO.
Alot of ppl are overlooking Green but the guy has nothing to lose with 0 points in the tourney, he has to unleash the beast to get a foothold and he knows that a KO = 3 points, tied with AA.
He will pressure Ward, take him out of his game and look to stop him late if he doesn't catch him early. Ward will try to win a borefest in Oaktown.
I bet Ward ko's him. I respectfully disagree with you my friend. I don't see any Ward fight as boring. He has ring smarts and will do anything he needs to do to win. He's very adaptable and has enough punching power to ko Green.
I see Ward as the most hungry fighter in this tourney. AA is powerful, but he ain't too bright. Ward is quick and like i said, is very cunning in the ring. Those are the only 2 i see as capable of taking the tourney, and as i have said before, i suspect the whole tourney rigged so an american wins it.
