I have to agree with the previous two posts.

Pacquiao made a good showing showing for himself, but to go through Floyd's accomplishments the way he has within the decade, and to do it unblemished says a lot.

If its in terms of achievemnt then Mayweather clearly deserves it. Mayweather went unbeaten throughout the decade and the only time he came close to losing was due to injury. Beat the best 130lber going in Corrales, beat the best 135lber in Castillo, Hatton was the best at 140 but ducked a fight when PBF was there so PBF fights him at 147 where he had previously won a belt. Baldomir was the lineal champ at 147 and judah was the former lineal champ. Most people perceived DLH to be the best at 154 and PBF beat him.

Mosley was asked for a fight in 2006 he rejected it, Cotto rejected a fight with PBF, Pwill has never had a good run at 147 as a champ, Margarito was later caught for alleged cheating. So not as if he didnt try to fight the people he was accused of ducking.
You really are trying to give PBF extra brownie points for nothing.
You say you have to go on achievements? Being unbeaten has got nothing to do with achievments as there are many unbeaten boxers. Its what you do that counts, and when PBF was retired he was doing zilch. While Pac was destroying Hatton, DLH, Diaz and COtto and Clottey.
Pac got his FOTF through achievement, and not entertainment.

I think what hurt his credibility for the award was the 2 year lay off.

Floyd is a "Prize Fighter", "Doesn't care about legacy"... but yet daddy and uncle can't accept the fact that their little girl didn't win the award...

Yeah, but even with the 2yr layoff, floyd was top tier in comparison to manny and his achievements. Just think, his name is mentioned only because he defeated 2 fighters floyd already beat!

Manny didn't deserve it...if they would have said hopkins or lewis. The arguments against their decision wouldn't be so heavy

Years after years of being awarded FotY, a record breaking belt holder, Ring mag's #1 P4P for years, sold out venues, amazing PPV sales even with smaller draw fighters... I can go on and on..

While Floyd went on "retirement" Pac was beating world champions..

How long are you *****s going to cry about Pac winning this award?? You guys want it so bad, how about make an online petition (if you haven't already) to give it to Floyd instead..

Pac's probably the first to be humbled and say that he didn't deserve the award and that he is only but a simple man fighting for his people..

Beating Morales and Barrera is 50% of what made Pacquiao FOTD. KOing Hatton and Oscar helps a little.....only a little.

                      Morales>>>>>>>>>>>>>Oscar&Hatton

                      Barrera>>>>>>>Oscar & Hatton
