JMM is a 37 year old who has reached his maximum limit at 135 and could still make 130, to cut it short...he is no jr welter.

Seriously you guys forget that Marquez is one of the smartest fighter in boxing right now. Im talking Hopkins/Mayweather smart in the ring so that has to count for something.
No one is underestimating JMM, we all saw what happened when he fought at 140+, he should stay at 135 and call it a day.

I agree I wish he would stay at lightweight but when people consider Bradley, Alexander, and Maidana bigger threats I think they forget just how talented Marquez is. Seriously other than the size Marquez is a way more skilled/talented/accomplished fighter than any of the other JR welters that were mentioned.

Is that all you see it as? A size differential?

cmon now we all have seen his physical skills decline for some time now

we have all seen him get a tad slower, look a tad more faded, a tad more hittable

wasn't it argued that this is the main reason why his fights have been more entertaining because his physical tools have made him a more in front of his opponent fighter?

At this point Khan has to fight an 140lb, no more ppl comming up in weight. He has a mandatory and also the 140 is filled with challenges. He not going to have any shortage in finding an opponent

I think you are misinterpreting what Im saying. Yes Marquez skills have eroded a bit and yes Khan is a clear favorite but Marcos Maidana a hard punching brawler being a bigger challange is mind boggling. Marquez would be hands down the smartest fighter Khan ever faced and if anyone knows how to counter speed in that division it's Marquez. I'm not saying Marquez would win but i am saying it would be a very tough fight for Khan and by no means be any easier then fighting Maidana, Bradley, or Alexander.

l like how ppl compare this to the maywether situation. first of all, mayweather gets a lot, and i mean a lot, of flack for fighting jmm. secondly, jmm is about 2 fights older now and well into his decline. thirdly, mayweather beat all of the top guys in his divisions when he was khan's age, none of that easy road **** khan is pulling. say wat u want about mayweather now, but he didnt take it easy early in his career. thats exactly what khan is doing and then claiming to be something special. if u are, prove it. stop fighting ppl we all kno u can beat.

What division did Floyd ever fight in that had the talent that 140 has right now?

a bit? dude to be honest if it were not for his ring smarts I think we would have seen a serious decline in Marquez.

and the reason why people like Maidana as a challenge over JMM are obvious or is that not clear?

                    1. he hits hard. The kid can crack and can stop fighters with head and body shots. That is something we haven't seen Khan face since Prescott and honestly need to see again. He has been facing light hitting foes of late and IMO it has over inflated his status

                    2. Maidana is an actual 140lb fighter, something I assume you realize Marquez isn't and while Marquez is indeed skilled at some point there becomes a threshold of how much a fighter, even one as skilled as Marquez, can risk before it's too much to bite off. I see that with a Khan fight.

oh so, because 140 has a lot of talent means khan doesnt have to fight a legit challenger??i got it...
