a heavy handed 140 pounder hitting gatti with all those clean shots wouldve put him down.

But that's the thing that seperates Mayweather with the rest of the 140lb fighters. He has the ability to hit people clean with multiple shots and get out of there before they can reply or he can block their reply. I mean it's easy to say a harder puncher could put away the people Mayweather fights if they can land as clean as he does, but that's a big if, because not alot of fighters can land flush shots like Mayweather can, so consistently, and in the face of any kind of defense.

i gotta go with pbf on this one, Cotto is the bigger puncher and he has skills, but he's not ready for floyd yet, right now pbf will give Cotto a boxing lesson. cotto shouldn't be thinking about floyd at all now, leave him alone for a couple years and maybe go after him at 147 where Cotto will be the stronger guy because as good as Cotto is he's not going to outbox pbf

Cotto wont be at 140 for much longer. He is getting to big and its getting hard for him to make weight. Smart thing for him would be to move up to 147 before PBF does and take over that division. He then could have some leverage when they go to the negotiating table.

if boxrec stats arent wrong mayweather has a sizeable reach advantage of five inches.

cotto needs to fight a top contender before getting in the ring with mayweather.

i was expecting to see more power from him in the abdulaev fight.i thought he should have had an easier time against Mo.

i am hopeing that cotto is the first guy corrales meets at 140.whoever wins should have the next crack at mayweather,at 140 or 147.

I think a fight between Cotto, and Corrales would turn out just like Pinto, they basicly two tall fighters, who are boxer puncher types, Cotto would look good in that fight simply cause he is a counter puncher, as soon has Chico opens up he can combo him, although I could be wrong, since I felt Chico would have an easy night with Castillo.

I like Cotto but he is very suspetable to a good puncher. Floyd is a very accurate and his speed will kill Cotto. Floyd will land enought shots to slow Cotto down and his stamina will show as he picks up in the late rounds. I see this fight as of now being a land slide descion or a late TKO for Mayweather. In a year of two i would pick Mayweather by close descion.

That would be a huge weight advantage for Cotto on the night of the fight. Almost 25 pounds.

Floyd is not a huge puncher, but he will beat the crap out of a boxer until he gets a TKO or a stoppage by a corner, that is if he's on his game, sometimes he's a little lazy & doesn't train hard, it shows in some of his fights.
I don't see anyone beating Mayweather, he will beat anyone from 130 to 147. As for Cotto, I hope he fights that overrated Hatton guy, I think Cotto will KO Hatton. Cotto hits much harder then Hatton & he also is a better boxer, he proved it in his last fight.
