THis is why I'm never worried about Calderon and potential matchups with Segura and others. People fail to realize that he has been in with bigger, harder hitting and more skillful guys, yet people actually think some of those flyweights would over power or even hurt him.

Andre Berto beat Andre Dirrell in the amateurs 3 times.

Khan beat Victor Ortiz in the Am's twice.

Aguie Sanchez beat Mayweather in the Am's.

It happens, it's different in the pros though.

              This^^^^

at that age (anything under 17) even a 2 year gap is huge as far as physical advantages are concerned.

Yes. He couldn't deal with Ivan's uncanny power and come forward style.

Hopefully Steward can fix the mistakes Cotto made and Cotto will win a rematch at MSG next year.

That is if Ivan stops being a little ***** and moves up to 154.

Sparring is much different. Williams has beaten up guys like Glen Johnson in sparring...but lost to a smaller guy like Quintana. Styles make fights. I'm pretty small at 5 8 157 and spar with a 5 11 240lbs HW and I actually win rounds against him in sparring. But in a real boxing match, no question he would KO me easily. Sparring is a whole different thing.

Yes he did years ago. When cotto was a skeleton skinny. They're practically good close friends,at one point he was going to use calderon as a sparring partner for pacquiao, till calderon's gash opened in the moyel fight.
