Roy really made the Cotto/Foreman fight compelling. The other announcers are spitting garbage about Foreman and Roy is truly telling it how it is. One line he made (and I'm paraphrasing) made the fight stand out.
"He's throwing punches because he knows if he's not going to throw, he's going to looking up soon"
He felt that Cotto was breaking Foreman down early and forcing Foreman out of his comfort zone by fighting and throwing more. It was insight that Lampley and others don't give (other than Steward) and most importantly, he made it interesting. I wasn't fan much of Roy the fighter, but Roy the commentator so far is so good!
There are 3 announcers for a reason. Roy/Emmanuel are the boxing experts, they break down what each fighter is doing and what tactics work best. Jim Lampley is the play by play guy, he calls the action and he's the best in the boxing business IMO. (Joe Tessitore close second) Then Kellerman is simply a boxing fan, a historian of the sport. I'm sure he knows what is going on in the ring, but his job is to ask the questions casual fans may not know. Not everyone is a hardcore fan, and especially with the PPV buys have been of late their are a lot more now. They each have their own job and I think they all do it well.
Kellerman does his job well, you can tell he has a passion for the sport and really thrives to make it better. He's also about 1000 times better than Larry Merchant and I welcome the permanent change, I'm still unsure why they didn't have Max calling the Pac/Cotto fight. I also like Roy, I'm not sure if I like him more than Steward... actually, I think I do but Steward knows his **** too and I've learned a lot from simply listening to him. Roy should be his replacement or fill-in when Steward isn't available and when Steward retires, I'm all for Roy taking over. As for the poll, I say both, I like the HBO commentary team as it currently is.
