    What is a good chin?

I see th terms "good chin" or "great chin" thrown around all the time....but what do you consider a great chin:

A fighters ability to take a punch anywhere to his body, or ability to take a punch only to the head?

Its referred to the head and not the body.

Only to the head. Anybody's chin can be cracked of course, but I'd consider a guy to have a good chin if he can absorb a decent amount of head shots without it affecting his game or his performance. A great chin is one that can absorb sickening levels of head-snapping punishment without apparent ill effect.

Ability to take good all round shots is what I'd call toughness.

Mainly fighters who can take punches to the face and the chin is the most critical spot.

Ali...PERFECT example of a great chin.

Floyd Jr. has a good chin, too. Every time he's been hit flush on the jaw, he's never really lost composure.

Miguel Cotto has a great chin.

I also think Cotto has a great chin too, i mean hes been TKO'd 2 times but by the 2 biggest punchers out there and was never close to being KO'd

Good points, because i always hear "this guy could take a punch, because he has a good chin", but taking a hard punch to the body is harder to recover then a good punch to the head
