Um for one thing, Mayweather was going up only one weight class while Marquez was going up two. The four pound difference was the wewight in difference. If Marquez knew Mayweather was going to be heavyier than they had initially agreed, he would have porbably come in lighter in order to use quicknes instead of the error of trying to use brawn.

I think he was referring to 140 and more importantly 147, which he's been a part of since 2005.

well how manny fighters were their for him to fight in wleter weight?? he fought baldomir and zab judah when he got into the division who were ranked number 1 and 2 people seem to forget about that. zab was in his prime and baldomir hadent lost in 7yrs. then he foguht oscar for moeny and a division higher then him which isnt a bad thing. then he fought hatton who was about the same size as floyd and who fought ALREADY at 147 before his fight with floyd. then he retired and came back and he did fight a small marquez but he used the ranked numebr 2 p4p fighter in the world as a tune up from almost a 2yr lay off ..then he fought divison champion shane molsey who was dodge by manny twice. dont say well mosley was old...well if he was so old why did manny team say this old man was to good, and regardless of age if theya re the champion of the divison you need to fight them you cant just use his age as a reason not to fight someone.

Come on be real Marquez could of came in at 135 and still Floyd would be faster. Being small doesn't make you fast. Being big doesn't make you slow. Some people have it some people don't. And if you don't then you better have some other skills to offset it or your ass is done.

i dont think anyone is questioning what floyd did @ 130s... floyd was untouchable, the way he moved up and whooped diego was classic...
everyone knows that the moment he got settled into WW, he started to slack off.... instead of pushing himself and closing the show, he was content with sitting back and pecking for a decision.... THATS THE PROBLEM. especially for someone who talks about "whooping ass" and so on... floyd hasnt demolished anyone since gatti... and gatti was open to get whooped by ANYONE, he was a technical boxers dream opponent. the WW division was STACKED, and floyd chose to fight a faded oscar for a payday... then made hatton move up. then retired when the division was HOT... p-will, margs, cotto, mosley, etc... then claims he wasnt officially "called out" as justification for not fighting them...
no one is questioning whether floyd is superior to any of them, but the fact remains that THOSE FIGHTS wouldve been WARS... and definitely wouldve added more wear & tear to floyd.... floyd carefully chose his opponents to preserve himself & maximize his earning potential... no problem with that, but people need to stop acting like floyd "takes all comers"... which is far from the truth.

as for manny, great matchmaking in his favor, catchweights, & fighting "left-overs".... faded/drained oscar, cool... overrated hatton, fine... damaged cotto??? fu** off, cotto was legit... clottey was legit... but the DIFFERENCE is that he put himself in fights that ALOT of people considered him at a disadvantage... if jmm beat floyd at 142, would people discredit jmm for having floyd fight at a catchweight? i dont think so, so i still dont understand why theres even an argument about whats more impressive that a bigger guy (floyd) beat a smaller guy (jmm), compared to a smaller guy (manny) beating a bigger guy (cotto, etc.).... and when it came to closing the show, pac is a great finisher...

people need to give credit to floyd & manny, both are the greatest fighters of their era...

manny beat cotto, no excuses.... floyd beat shane, no excuses... cotto & shane were BOTH in great shape and deserve a lot more respect than most are giving them.... people get blinded by their own fandom its ridiculous...

btw, manny & floyd are LOSING INSANE AMOUNTS OF COOL POINTS for their bullsh**....

i cant wait for the next elite fighter to emerge and have these 2 egomaniacs retire.... there are HUNGRIER fighters that deserve attention.

so what happens if floyd were to move down to a catchweight @ 138-142.... at a weight that jmm would be more effective??? i think thats the whole point of the argument bro... jmm was #2 p4p based off of his skillset & effectiveness @ 130-135.... p4p is based off of the hypothetical that if one were to fight anyone, any division, how they would fare.... but in the case of jmm/floyd, it was clear that jmm couldnt maintain his effectiveness @ WW.... so essentially, jmm wasnt the "real" #2 p4p jmm.... the same way oscar wasnt the "real" oscar against manny due to being faded & drained....

also, if floyd (arguably #1 or #2 p4p) were to "drain" himself to fight jmm at a catchweight of 138-140, and LOSES.... does that automatically discredit jmm's victory???? or if floyd were to move up 2 divisions to meet at a catchweight with ward, bute, kessler, etc.... if floyd were to beat them, would it be dismissed because floyd "forced" them to meet at a catchweight??? or would we all praise floyd for fighting the bigger man???

                      just curious......
