Should Diego Corrales Be In Boxing Hall Of Fame?

First of all I have no qualms in saying that Chico is my favourite fighter of all time, Its sad that neither the World Boxing Hall of Fame or the International Boxing Hall of Fame have shown any interest in inducting him. He fought everyone and anyone, Never pulled a no-mas and was always able to dig very deep and win the fight. For me he is the ultimate boxing hero that was robbed by Gary Shaw and some members of his family.

Out of all the opponents that have fought Mayweather the one that had the best chance to beat him and would have beat him if the fight contined was Chico. I agree that Mayweather won most if not all of the first 10 rounds but Chico was waiting for Floyd to punch himself out and then when Floyd was on the ropes tired he would get the knockout.

Chicos step dad stopped the fight very prematurely and the referee probably just wanted to go home quicker and so found the perfect excuse to end the fight. There was a conspiracy in Chicos step-dad, Bob Arum and Gary Shaw to have Chico loose that fight by stopping it before Chico caught up to Mayweather for the knockout.

For those of you who dont know Chicos style he was a slugger, So what annoys me no end is how they stopped the Mayweather-Corrales fight in the 10th round but in Castilo-Corrales we all seen what Chico was going to do to Mayweather if the fight continued. He turned the fight around in probably the most memorable round in recent boxing.

That was Corrales, Thats what would have happened to Mayweather if the fight continued and he was atleast allowed to end the 10th round

Instead Chico got robbed against Mayweather.

Anyway thats all in the past, Chico is dead im sure Shaw, Bob Arum and all the haters are happy, But he should be in the boxing hall of fame!

Absolutely. Not sure about the mayweather theory you got there, but I think he did enough to earn a spot into the hall of fame. Plus, his intangibles, the legendary fights he was involved in are enough to get him.

Boxing Hall of Fame to me isn't like baseball, it's not all about stats. Other things are considered besides wins/losses/titles, like what they did for the sport, the quality of fights they were involved in, quality of opponents, entertainment, etc. which is why I also think Gatti should be hall of famer too.

Dude Chico got knocked down 6 times. The corner threw the towel in. Floyd may have hurt him seriously. I think he makes it b/c the Castillo fight is generally considered the best fight of this generation.

Chico vs Freitas is my favorite fight ever, but it is a toss up, I think he should be, but the writers probly wont give him the nod

Yeah I hope so aswell, But Floyd has alot of worshippers. That being said I hope people can see what Chico has achieved. The fact that he is dead now should allow people to overcome any dislike of Chico because of Mayweather.
