We all seem to forget that in most of Manny's big wins, he has had an edge of some sort, Oscar dehydrated to the bone, Cotto a catchweight, Hatton , ran in with his chin out and hands down, etc. Now I'm not saying that Manny is not a top class fighter, he is, but Julio Caesar Chavez of THOSE days, was unbeatable by anyone I've ever seen.....and I've seen nost of them.

He was not only indestructable, but a top class attacking fighter, who had over 8 fights before he lost his first one.

      No, Chavez all the way.
Of course I mean that Chavez had had over 80 fights before his first loss. Sorry for typo.

Well Steward felt Cotto was a favourite vs Manny and Mosley vs Mayweather was 50/50.

          Sugars "lists" constantly changes.

I would say alot of their opinions are attention whoring, some is over excited fanfare based on hype and also a touch of flavour of the month.

Lets just say it is hardly controversial to feel Pernell is a better fighter than Manny Pacquiao. I am hardly alone on that opinion and if you were around to watch boxing before Pacquiao vs De la Hoya you might have had a more realistic viewpoint than the usual ******* logic (as in Manny is top5 ATG, he is not)

Yes I agree, I like Manny P. always have, and watched his every fight since Barrera. But I'd forgotten how excellent Chavez was and went through some of his fights again. I believe that Chavez would not only have the answer to Manny P's speed, (being an excellent "timer" as well as speedy himself when neccessary) and that Manny would not be able to hurt him, but that he'd be able to hurt Manny, at least cut him up badly.

                Chavez by a UD.

I say either pac close UD or Chavez TKO11
This is actually a decent analogy but I wouldn't go as far as saying Macho was WAY faster than Pac. They might have had comparable speed but Pac's angels are what throws people off.

I see Chavez chasing Pac for the entire fight and maybe having a chance to ko him or lose by dec.

And Hatton had been KO'd badly in the previous Mayweather fight, having rammed his head squarely into the ring post.
