I was asked last night how I thought Roy Jones Jr would fare against myself...

... not the old, washed up version who Joe Calzaghe ducked me to face, but Roy Jones in his 1990s prime.

Obviously I'm the greatest supermiddleweight on the planet right now, but Roy Jones was a different calibre to a lot of what's around today, a proud warrior like my good self.

However, while Roy Jones fought some good opponents during his career, he never faced anyone with my quick hands, boxing pedigree or slick skills. He really didn't.

Although I'd expect a prime Roy to try and bring it to me, once he tasted the lightning fists of the Cobra he'd start to go into his shell. The doubts would set in. "I really can't beat this guy, he's just too good", he'd be saying after the first round.

He'd still give it a go, but I'd expect a prime Roy to be banjo'd sometime during the first six rounds.

I beat Kessler 24-0 - scoring each round twice due to my extreme dominance - and was robbed.

There's a reason why Joe Calzaghe retired.

Its a nice mythical matchup Carl, but it would've never happened tbh. Roy made a career out of ducking the tough European competition while settling for American bums.

Cobra by k.o in less than 9. Prime Roy had just as bad a chin as post Tarver Roy. Furthermore, The Cobra isn't a sucker for all those chicken feints nor is he impressed by a man that fashioned his style after poultry.

There would be nothing he could do to avoid the anvil fists of the Cobra crashing on his china chin.

LOL Carl froch is one of my favourite fighters.

But Prime RJJ would of outclassed Froch.

The RJJ after Tarver would have been KOed by Froch though.

You beat Kessler at less than your best to boot. Don't be so modest. But I'm actually glad they robbed you and gave Kess another chance.

              Seems like a good lad.

Is this real? Whatever, prime RJJ beats just about anybody, including the entire super 6.

...somehow I think the real Froch has more important stuff to be doing right now, like preparing to torch that phantom-groin-shots complainer Abraham.

True, but that would be really cool to see.

As Roy got your number and you lack a tad of creativity, Roy would hand your a$$ to you in the round you call.
