This fight is make or break for Chavez.

If he and Roach can impress than this can send his career skyrocketing.

If Chavez scores a KO of Duddy and goes on to get a fight against Cotto, he might be Mexico's next big thing.

The chances of that happening is slim to none though.

I think he'll get a lackluster UD against Duddy and get KO'd by Marg or Cotto if he indeed gets past Duddy.

However he is still young and can make up for a lost against a name like Cotto especially if he puts up a good fight, this is obviously ASSUMING he doesn't beat Cotto if they face each other.

It will be a decent payday though for both fighters!!!

I agree, just like prsi said, this is assuming if he doesnt beat Cotto, on the other hand margarito will be the most difficult fight between the two. Not because he beat Cotto but just wondering if he can put up with the work rate of margarito, find the trick to break marg's chin and against somebody his height(comparing 5-11 against Cotto's 5-8, where he could use his size as advantage) and more experienced than him?

It looks to me that Bob Arum is the only one selling JCC Jr like it is a fighter that should be matched up and people want to see. Again and again Arum doesn't care about boxing

im curious to see What Roach does with Chavez..hes got talent but lacks heart n passion when he fights...but from his previous fights..Rito or Cotto would KO this kid in the mid to late rounds....but again..im curious to see how he comes out with Roach.

I agree, just because he is Chavez son doesnt mean he is going to be another one of the greatest, like his father. very true about the heart and passion....

Both of them have been unimpressive up to this point in their careers. I would've said that it's a toss up but being that Freddie Roach is training this dude I'll give him the upper hand. Margarito or Cotto would beat this kid though, no doubt about that. Margarito is way more experienced and Arum is crazy if he puts him up against cotto. Unlike a lot of people, not most, but a lot I still think Cotto has a lot left in the tank. He really impressed me in his fight with Foreman. Unlike in his fight against Pacquiao his balance and condition was on point in that fight imo.

Give me a break, Margarito is an above average fighter in the same class as Collazo and Clottey.
lol Margarito would destroy Chavez jr somethin brutal.

wtf! the article itself and the quotes say nothing about margo vs chavez jr! the only thing mentioning this is the title of the article.

please point out if i over looked something here.

plus when margo beat cotto, on a post fight interview w/ tv azteca, chavez sr was standing side by side w/ margo and said he felt as if his own son was up there in the ring beating another puerto rican, while margo said that he looked up to chavez sr coming up...im not sure these two would fight each other...but money talks and i hope im wrong
