The 24-year-old Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (40-0-1, 30 KOs) is preparing to end what will have been a seven-month ring absence on June 26 when he steps into the ring at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Tex., opposite Ireland-native, John Duddy, of New York. Chavez-Duddy will be part of Top Rank Promotions' Latin Fury 15: La Furia De Mexico pay per view event. [Click Here To Read More]
these fights aren't happening.
no way in hell is arum gonna let Cotto or Margarito have Chavez Jr. get beat the **** up.
yep, he needs to step up and fight real fights, i am sure Cotto will crush him but he's at a point where if he can't beat top fighters then he never belonged, just like i've been saying about Berto; before the mosley/Berto fight was cancelled, everyone kept saying he's not ready for a Mosley type, but come'on, he was gonna fight a Mosley that Cotto had beaten 2 and a half years earlier, so if Berto would've not get past Mosley, it would be clear that he's good but just not that good
I agree, just like prsi said, this is assuming if he doesnt beat Cotto, on the other hand margarito will be the most difficult fight between the two. Not because he beat Cotto but just wondering if he can put up with the work rate of margarito, find the trick to break marg's chin and against somebody his height(comparing 5-11 against Cotto's 5-8, where he could use his size as advantage) and more experienced than him?
Agree and good points on you comparissons on who should be more difficult.
However; Cotto's speed (although not the fastest in the sport he's much faster than what JCCJ has faced) combined with the Power can make up for the workrate and chin of Margarito.
Chavez jr. Will KO this Duddy dude in 8 rounds maybe sooner
Duddy has been battered by bigger and harder punchers than JCCJ and never wobbled let alone be put down or stopped - so what makes you think that JCCJ can stop Duddy earlier??
