...ignoring the fact Cotto only fought effectively for a single round before appearing to gas.

Question still stands. If it doesn't matter, why did it to Roach?

Same ****? He got knocked down in the third round. And in the fourth round, he got knocked down HARD. First sign of evidence you don't know what you're talking about.

You could see the immediate loss of activity. Cotto looked in complete control if not on top of his game in the first, but before the 4th he was already showing less vigor.
Less vigor? Why don't you watch the recent Foreman fight. You can see that he fought with the same amount of "vigor" in that fight too. That's just his approach he took because when you fight vigorously against someone like Pac, you get knocked the **** out, as demonstrated in the 4th round of the fight. Another piece of evidence that you don't know what you're talking about.

Same thing happen in the second Morales fight.
I really don't know what to say about this. This is just WTF...

***It's all the same **** to me***

But before the knock down is what I'm obviously talking about. I literally stopped watching the fight before the knock down even took place because I already saw Cotto drastically ease up. It's way too obvious when someone like Cotto noticeably slows down. You could tell what was coming before the knock down even took place.

And he fought with Vigor in the Foreman fight? Are you kidding me? He didn't look too hot there either. He looked far more selective with his shots than anything. But that's expected from guys who take beatings the way he has.

I thought Cotto fought reasonably well until the 6th round. Even after being dropped in both rounds 3 and 4, he came back with a good 5th round, highlighted by a left uppercut when Pacquiao was on the ropes. Pacquiao came back with a strong 6th round, including an excellent right hook, and that seemed to suck the life out of Cotto. He looked mentally beat from then on.

As for the contracted weight of 145, well I personally don't think it made much of a difference. I'm not in his camp to see how his weight-cutting was going and if he was going through a lot to cut that extra weight, but he didn't seem all that weak to me at the weigh-in.

Of course, there is a reason why there was this contracted weight in the first place. To gain an edge, whether it be physical or psychological. Pacquiao has the negotiating leverage, so he was able to do this. Just like other fighters like Ray Leonard with his weight stipulations and other demands, or Ray Robinson threatening to pull out of fights twenty minutes before the fight because he was unhappy about something. It's just the way it goes. Boxing is not a set league where everyone follows the same rules. It's every man for himself.
