my contention (which is now unrelated to the thread topic) is that people automatically assume random testing is superior to scheduled testing.

my point is not really.

random testing is superior to scheduled testing for the same amount of times over a long period.

3 random tests over 2 months is superior to 3 scheduled test over the same 2 months.

but if you schedule more tests it's actually superior to random tests.
