Is Floyds unofficial 2nd retirement good or bad for boxing?

True or not, this came out of his mouth. Why make a statement about ‘retiring’ when the potential biggest fight in history is lined up on his sights? If you Mayweather fans consider him as the ‘face of boxing’, how is the sport looking right now?

Its not official so it means nothing yet...

ESPN and major media outlets aren't covering this so called "retirement"

boxing doesnt need any one single fighter...with the young talent pool it has now, theres plenty of talent to keep fans entertained.

The irony of all this retirement whirlwind is that Manny Pacquiao has also talked about retiring and not fight anymore like Floyd has. Arum told us not to take it seriously and Roger has done the same with Floyd. For some reason though people still want to use this as a opportunity to bash.

Roger said he is not last night.. the pac fight will get made

But for the question? no i don't think either Floyd or Pac retiring from boxing is a good.. they are both in there primes and making good fights

I'll take your word for it and yes if he retires before fighting Pacquiao it's bad for boxing. We miss out on the biggest fight of our lifetime.

56 wars and countless recognitions later, pac has every right to retire. hes not makin it an excuse to duck a megafight with floyd. Jr on the other hand still has work to do to match pacs status.
