Maybe Paul took the rounds from him or maybe he was starting slow to let the plaster harden. Late in the fight Margas punches seemed ALOT harder. Even Paul said that.

    The Jig is up Marg.
i agree with you man. i attended that fight, which was my first fight i've ever attended. and it sure looked like margarito was waiting for the fat lady to sing, then start throwing bombs.

Just for the record he had 13 fights in Cali. Not exactly his whole career

But we all know there is a huge amount of Mexicans in California...

I know where he was born..

He's had more fights in Mexico, than he's had in Cali.

Obviously he was more fresh earlier in the fight than later on but I dont think Paul lost rounds because he was getting tired, He came back and won the 12th round. Margarito wasnt hurting him at all early in the fight and then late on it's like Margarito stuns him everytime he hits him...

It just seemed abit strange to me...

Nah, I'm telling you. Re-watch that fight and take note of Paul's habits early on. He wasn't brawling or infighting. He was using his range, making Marg miss, using head movement. Snapping his jab, keeping Marg at the end of his jab.

Then about mid-fight. Paul started infighting, went to Margarito's world. That's when the damage started piling up. He wasn't using head movement, or his length, jab vanished and just stood in front of Marg blocking and trading.

Damage piled up and of course he was bound to start getting hurt and his head snapped back. Same thing happened in the Martinez fight. His head was flying all over the place later on.

It once was a part of Mexico, but that was a long time ago.
Cali has moved up in class since then.

The Baja California region. That's what SoCal natives know the place as. That's where Marg did his business. So, essentially his backyard was SoCal.
