Did Marg start slow to let his plaster harden??

I was watching Williams-Margarito in another tab.

Maybe Paul took the rounds from him or maybe he was starting slow to let the plaster harden. Late in the fight Margas punches seemed ALOT harder. Even Paul said that.

    The Jig is up Marg.

I agree, I watched the fight not long ago and it seemed as if Margarito was doing nothing early on but then REALLY started to come on after the 6th round. It's hard for anyone to take rounds from Paul but Margarito wasnt being anywhere near active enough in the first few rounds, It was if he knew the fight would swing his way. I haven't seen that many of Margarito's fights but I think he did start slow to make the plaster harden and then throw loads when it had hardened. He definetly did that in the Williams fight

Shows how good Paul is to beat a guy with loaded gloves....

Was Paul using head movement later on in the fight? Nope.

Margarito forgot his plaster at home...lol

I gotta watch Cotto-Marg again but from what I remember he was hurting Cotto early on occasionally when he trapped Miguel on the ropes...

I think Cotto respected his power from the get go cuz Cotto was on his bike EARLY...when Miguel's comfortable he doesn't box and move he's more flatfooted...

As for P.Will, Marg couldn't get off if he wanted P.Will was outboxing the **** outta him...not until Paul slowed down did he start lettin them hands fly...and Paul's defense is leaky so he was catchin em...

I haven't watched the fight since it happened, so I don't really recall. Margarito definitely stepped up the pace, but if I recall Williams was actually kind of boxing him early as well and that more than anything cut his work rate. Wouldn't surprise me if this was the case, but I also think it's just Margarito's style to be a slow starter, all his advantages are physical and come from wearing opponents down.

I didn't see this full fight, but apparentally Marg was convinced he won. I remember seeing the end where Marg went up to Pwill and said 'You shoulda lost man'.

He busted Cotoo's nose in round 2 or something, but was very slow. Then again Cotto was brilliant the first 7?
