Martinez cruises to a UD victory over Paul and Cotto though.
williams is hittable against boxers who use effective footwork and move their heads. clinching will help as well. cotto's footwork seems to be much improved but he doesnt exactly slip punches. he gets hit with just about everything and williams throws just about everything. bad matchup for cotto.

I think Martinez beats him as well. Cotto's best bet is to hope Martinez, being 35, slows down during the fight enough to make him fight. Those middle rounds when Martinez slows down could make it a decent scrap. I'd still favor Martinez for sure, but I don't think he takes the same beating as a Williams fight.
Williams leans in a lot and doesn't always use his reach. I can imagine Cotto taking a step back and catching Williams. Not saying he would beat Williams but its a better chance then fighting Martinez

in the same way cotto said he is willing to battle with the elite fighters of 154lbs like paul williams, sergio martinez, and the mexicans el perro angulo and margarito if the conditions are correct(apropiate)

he can't beat them........he will get broken down against Williams and Margarito....and i can't see him beating Martinez with the foot speed he brings to the table.........

Cotto will get in his shots, there is no question about it... but when it comes down to it I think Cotto will end up taking more punishment between to the two. Cotto will definitely use his timing and catch Williams.. but he isn't winning a UD over him..

Cotto isn't a knock out puncher, though. He beats you by wearing you down, not by one punch knockouts... To me, he isn't knocking out Paul with one punch at 154lbs, and I can't see him winning a decision..

I agree with the rest of your post but I dont agree with that. That's what Martinez tried to do to Paul in the first fight, Box and move and not get hit which was successful for the most part against Cintron and Pavlik but not against Williams. Williams makes you fight, The only way to beat him is to hit him enough to keep him off you which is pretty damn difficult. In the first fight Martinez fought as well as he possibly could and still lost, In the rematch I see Paul making some adjustments and winning more comfortably. Even though Martinez is a very good boxer I dont see him winning a rematch...

I think Cotto's next fight should and will be against Margarito. I think he needs to get that off his chest before going into another fight with a Mayweather or Pacquiao. To be honest id like to see him fight Angulo but I doubt it will happen because Angulo isnt promoted by Top Rank and Margarito is.

I dont see Cotto fighting Martinez or P-Will.

Both very bad style matchups for him IMO

i agree, he always outclasses his opponents there, just like he did mosley, mostly with jabs
