  • De La Hoya Reveals Hit List

By Armando Alvarez (June 28, 2005)
    -------------------
Sorry Miguel Cotto. You too Floyd Mayweather Jr. Hey Zab Judah, don't even think about it. Those fighters will not be making any money fighting Oscar De la Hoya in 2006. The Golden Boy was telling a few in the press today in Miami that he will fight in 2006, May and September to be exact, and the three opponents he's targeting are Winky Wright, Felix Trinidad, and Fernando Vargas.

"I'm fighting in '06 at 147 or 154," De la Hoya said. "I want to fight Trinidad, Winky, or Vargas. Those are the three fights I want for next year."

Richard Schaeffer of Golden Boy Promotions said Oscar won't fight any Top Rank fighters (for obvious reasons), and fights with Shane Mosley or Judah won't be appealing to fans.

"The perfect first fight back would be against Vargas," Schaeffer said. "Their first fight was a great fight, and the rematch would sell out the Staples Center. First Vargas needs to get past Castillejo, and then we shall see."

the only person that this fight wont be appealing for is for OSCAR.

I really hope the Trinidad fight happens if for nothing else, the chance to see Tito fight again. (Assuming he doesnt look like he did against Winky).

Is De La Hoya still in cahoots with Bob Arum?
I'm not interested in any of those fights, except for Winky Wright.

Trinidad makes sense, as well. He wants to avenge an incorrect decision. I can respect that one. He's wanted Trinidad for a while, so he says. He's just in it for money, now, which is silly, because he can get hurt really bad doing this.

No, it'd be too one-sided for the fans. Oscar doesn't have it in him to take Super Zab out. He's too fast for him at this advanced stage of Oscar's career, and life.

De La Hoya's a joke, a sideshow "attraction" as a BOXER in this point of his "career", he just needs to stick with promoting and doing commercials for his clothing line and all the other bull**** he does. His heart is not in it anymore.

Oscar should retire...he can't balloon up in weight dramatically and fight once every year and a half and be effective...

Give it up Oscar...the run is over...

His hit list is a piece of **** but I think he beats Vargas and Tito...Winky is too much on top of his game but I already watched him beat those two guys and I am not dying to see it again, I cannot imagine watching another Tito fight and after the 4th round say this one is over...because he can't get out of the way of the jab or mount any type of offensive attack.

Actually Oscar should fight Julio Ceasar Chavez one more time, hell I bet Chavez thinks he can beat him...I would like to see the old bastard brutalized one more time by Oscar.

                  Jsut kidding Oscar should quit!

well, I will desagree with most of you on this 1. ODH if he goes to 147 I truly beleave that he will be a force to be recond with. Vargas will loose, tito I dont think will come back but if he does, I think he will loose, DLH won't get tired after 8 rounds, wich is what happend on their first fight. And that means that he wont be running for 4 rounds. As long as he doesn't stand toe to toe with tito he should win this 1. If he starts to trade with tito is bye bye ODH because he will be KO. And last wright, too much of a boring fight for me to watch, winky will start and finish with uncomited jabs and that will be 12 rounds of boring stuff again.

                    Those are my 2 cents/
