Cotto has always been very balanced in every aspect of boxing, those skills don't just disappear, if anything some of them become more polished with continued training, and some attributes like speed, slowly fade. Nonetheless Cotto has been top-notch for the last 5 years or so. I noticed some people just started talking **** about Cotto, b/c they don't like Pac, the same way people talk **** about Mosley b/c they don't like Mayweather (trying to discredit the wins). Cotto is only 30 years old, right? His skills aren't diminishing at a rapid rate like some people have made it seem. I'm very impressed with how his body frame, being 5'7 (boxrec) was able to handle the extra weight, and he looked good with it. I still don't consider him a natural 154lb (those guys rehydrate to like 165 or so, maybe more, Miguel usually rehydrates to 155 or so, in welterweight bouts). I don't expect Cotto to face a natural like, Martinez at 154, but I'm interested to see what he chooses to do now, he has lots of options.
Cotto-Foreman: NSB is FULL of ****!

Amen. People are so fn ******. You lose to a pound for pound best and your shot? GTFO. And Margarito MAY have cheated. I can't say he did or didn't, but you still have to take that into consideration.
He's done nothing but give us fans what we want from our sport time and time again. I true exciting warrior. He deserves the benefit of the doubt.Comment

Most of these losers wanted Cotto to fail and when he didnt they tried to find something else.So prior to last night the big question was "How much does Cotto have left?"..and there was so many threads speaking on Foreman's talent slickness and even underrated power..
To many fans here Cotto was suppose to have his hands full..and Cottos stamina was also in question..
Now..fact is Cotto beat the **** out of Foreman..and now he's a BUM, who can't crack an egg, who everyone all of a sudden knew would get his ass handed to him by the "shot" Cotto right?..lmao!..
I can't believe how the value of this website has tanked so badly..Cotto has struggled in recent years especially after the beating he took by the proven cheater Margarito..whether he loaded up is still a question..and I'll admit beating Foreman really doesn't prove much..
But a few things u can't discredit is Cotto STOPPED an UNDEFEATED Natural 154lber in his first fight at JrMW, his Jab was used a lot more and did WONDERS, and his footwork was beautiful..it was perfect to move at Foremans rythm who's known for his slick footwork..and Cotto cut the ring off and looked powerful even on the move..
So to all the "NSB Experts" EAT A ****!..all u gotta do is give credit when credit is due!..Cotto finally took a belt from a champ and KO'd him..so the vacant belt **** is dead..and he was in the last quarter of the fight and looked fine stamina wise..I know foreman didn't pressure him..but Cotto was on the move the entire time trying to find his target..
Stop finding **** to discredit and be a fan of the sport like you claim to be..Cotto did what many saw impossible..and he still gets ****ted on..y'all know who you are..TRUE BOXING FANS UNITE!!!
It sucks when Plaster users, drug addicts and cherry pickers are loved more than the boxers who we never hear anything about the"red tape" or negotiations of their fights . Cotto just wars on while these other are like soap opera women.Comment

The same thing happens with a lot of fights. People here believe the pre-fight hype espoused by individuals and organisations with vested interests in the fight being perceived as an even match. Cotto-Foreman had Manny Steward (on contract with HBO AND Cotto) telling anyone who cared to listen it was a 50-50 fight, not one he would have chosen for Cotto, that Foreman had unseen power and talents, he would give Tommy Hearns problems etc. etc. and his words were echoed around the place by many others. In short, Foreman was built up to be something he wasn't, and we were to believe eight KOs on his record wasn't indicative of his true punching power, when it fact it was.
The insidious side of the hype suggested Foreman's lack of punching power was less a concern since Cotto was physically worn and psychologically damaged. Certain factors that usually count for much i.e. power, aggression, killer instinct etc. were less important against Cotto, because when things got tough Cotto backed down. This was an insinuated part of the marketing for Cotto-Foreman. No-one came out and really said it, but the palookas who are dumb enough to believe everything they read would draw their own conclusions, buy into it at least partially and pay for a fight ticket, buy some merchandise, watch at home on TV or go to a bar and watch etc etc.
So in the wash-out, when Cotto dominates and stops Foreman, and Foreman has none of the weapons he had kept hidden for 28 fights but was supposedly saving for Cotto, and the fans who believed Manny Steward and put $50 on Foreman at the betting house lose their $50 and feel like dorks, they come to NSB and make even bigger dorks of themselves.
Happens every damn fight!Comment
