Like always I am not scared to let my thoughts out and be outspoken. I am not going to care for the red K , its welcomed , for the names , the lil videos , its all welcomed.
But seriously , I am now more convinved than ever , that this forum , with a few exceptions , is populated by fans alright. Fans that dont really know what has to be taken into consideration , or how to analyze an upcoming fight or how to read matchups.
Everyone makes the wrong pick every now and then. I haven't always made the right pick when trying to come up with a possible winner , no one has. But there are those few ones , that believe that by calling u names , or giving u a bad rep , or posting a "smart comment" as a reply to ur post , actually are better fans , and know more than you.
And if u care to read , read , if u dont , there are plenty of **** threads u can go check out.
I am picking one of my favorite fighters , who is also my countryman , to get my point across because I think its the best example of what Im talking about.
Cotto being shot.
To some is a reality , to others is close , to me , is yet to be proven.
What I believe is a shot fighter , and most recent example that comes to mind is Jose Luis Castillo , with all due respect , because up to this day , he has been the closest man to beat the ATG Floyd. Yes ATG , its what I believe , And yes , I think castllo won you dont?? its cool.
castillo went thru battles with Corrales , and Floyd- Castillo was also a pretty action packed fight.
What happened recently , He was man handled by a c- fighter in alfonso Gomez yes I believe he is a c- fighter)
That performance , that way to go out , that to me is a shot fighter.
Now Cotto , who was always known to press the fight , to handle opponents like a lion with a relentless style and vicious punching , chose to fight a different way against Margarito. If anyone failed to see that then , you might be a good fan , but not a good annalist.
Cotto was landing punches at will , stopping Margarito momentarily , and backing up. IMO , Cotto could have stopped Margarito a la Mosley. Cotto was landing vicious combinations and making Margarito look like the potato sack he is. But since he and his corner didnt notice this , and Cotto kept trying to outbox him , he gased out. Cotto could have walked thru Margarito , he was landing at will , margarito would cover up , Did Cotto work the body?????? Wh did he decide to land 3-4 combo and just box and go back. That wasnt his style. It was the boxer style he tried to pull off that cost him the fight.( yes that is what I believe) margarito has resistance and a great chin , but Cotto is by far the better , more complete fighter , But again , styles make fights.
Clottey slacked and gave let Cotto steal championship rounds , and back him up , when he clearly wasnt feeling much of Cottos power , and when he clearly had the speed advantage. Cotto got a 2 point round in the begining , 3 rounds at the end by Clottey slacking , and in between , The seventh was a clear Cotto round , whn he cornered Clotte for the majority of it. Judges didnt rob Clottey , Cotto robbed Clottey.
Against Pac , again , styles make fights , and Cotto even tho he won the first , and maybe the second , he tried to engage , forgot about the jab and defense , but anyways , that would have made it a closer fight anyways , But prob still had the same outcome.
So am I ******ed for believing all of this??? I could call you ******ed if you dont, right?? See why it doesnt really affect me.
Why is Cotto shot , and not rafael marquez.
We all cant have the same opinion about things , And I am cool with that. But to talk boxng , u gotta talk boxing , and boxing has many different aspects , styles , skills , attributes , and fighters. Just ecause you lose one , doesnt mean ur shot , Also , just because u beat an undefeated champion , doesnt mean you will beat the ones he beat.

Margarito>>> Cotto
Cotto>>Mosley
You want to know what I think. It takes more than a great chin and resistance to hang with Mosley , it takes skill.
Thats what separates those 3 fighters from each other and their victories over each other.
yes its long , but you read so much crap on here , like the Pactar wars , like the lopez is a duck , Like the Haye is a duck , like the Cintron is a clown , etc etc etc , that if u dont have 5 minutes to read my **** , it just shows me the trolling intentions and the desire to rack up e-points and bet , and ur love for the green rep bar. I will still stand by my word , and you by yours , we will still watch boxing , maybe not appreciate it the same way , and we will still be getting into those endless "opinion" debates.
