However the ref was also right in allowing the fight to continue. Only he could stop the fight. He didnt know who threw the towel...coulda been a prank from some idiot in the audience. He wanted to allow the champion every opportunity to keep his belt because it was obvious foreman wanted to continue, was able to continue. and was throwing back.
I think A) He already knew the trainer thew it, why else would he walk in the ring after. He could`ve also verified it if he wasn't sure who threw it.

and B) Shouldve consulted a ringside physician before letting the fight continue. Telling Foreman to suck it up doesn't cut it for me.

Its a bum knee, it's not like a headbutt or concussion or cut where the ringside physician can determine immediately whether the fighter can continue or not.

under your logic...Cotto/Clottey should have been stopped and cotto disqualified for injuring clottey's knee as well.

If foreman says he wants to continue, you must allow the champion the benefit of the doubt.

Please explain the rules of the fight if you have knowledge regarding different state rules.
it was the head trainer, he said he did at the post fight press conference. i was also wondering about the possiblity of foreman winning, that woulda ****** big time for cotto.

Well if that's what the rules are then he did the right thing. I was confused at first because that never happens.
