referees are supposed to be neutral!! and it ws OBVIOUS he liked yuri waaaay more than cotto... he congratulated yuri and not cotto after the fight, dude seriously mercante is either gay and loved yuri OR hes ***ish... or BOTH

I agree 100%. Several controversial fights have shown that Mercante simply does not understand his role in the ring.

I actually think this is the best Cotto has ever looked. His balace and footwork was ****in awsome really. For a guy that can **** like him he's very technical. He just looks refreshed and honestly that Cotto would be hard for alot of guys to beat. Him and Stuart make a good team. I always kind of thought that someone like Manny would be good for him.

Disagree. I like Cotto, but I see him being greatly outworked and busted up by both Williams and Martinez. Despite Williams defensive flaws, I think he has too much offensively for Cotto and I think he's a lot tougher than people give him credit for. I sincerely think Cotto would catch a worse beating than he did against Margarito. Unlike most people (from what I gather here), I think Cotto does better against Martinez than he does against Williams. Still, Martinez is in much better shape, so I see him breaking away from what was a pretty even fight over the first half to take a clear, but competitive decision over Cotto.

I agree that saying 'Cotto is back' is a bit optimistic. But I don't think Paul Williams would embarass him; Sergio Martinez definitely will though.

On another note, I wish Arthur Mercante Jr. was the ref in the Williams/Cintron fight.

I agree with your assesment on Sergio martinez beating cotto but I believe cotto can beat Pwill because he give up his height advantage. Pwill does not seem to be improving much in his last few fights he seems to have peaked.
Cong**** to Cotto on an excelent win. Now all the haters who said he had nochance in beating foreman are giving him no chance of beating top 154. Cotto will beat most of them, with the exeption of Martinez

This was a good fight.I always liked Cotto and feel he always gives his all in every fight.Yuri earned my respect yesterday and showed some real balls.The crowd was great in the stadium everybody seemed to be having a good time and the fight was better then I thought it would be.Good night overall.
