Shavers has had some good wins, and some very disappointing losses too
Earnie Shavers is No. 10 on the ring magazine's list of 100 greatest punchers.

yes, on the ring magazine's list of 100 greatest punchers
you can be a great puncher, that doesn't make you a great fighter

Arturo Gatti was a great puncher too, so was McClellan, and neither one of them have achieved things that made them great as fighters, they have had good careers, but that's it, just like Shavers

Shavers lost his most important matches : Holmes twice, was knocked out in 1 round by Quarry, lost to Ali, was knocked out by Lyle, Mercado and Cobb.

his best wins : Norton, Young, Ellis, Bugner

so the ratio tells he is not a great fighter, but he did well

come on? I never claimed he was one of the greatest. I just wanted to show his ranking as a puncher.
