you can't blame everything on your color. He was being arrogant, and she called him out on it. It had nothing to do with being black.

No it is not in the context of time but the art of bigotry has evolved and become covert. With the advent of Title VII which forced racism to take on different forms and in different ways. People prefer "people" to be meek and modest or to know where their place in society is especially if u were judged as inferior. Ali broke those traditional roles. During the Ali/Frazier days most of America sided w/ Frazier because he upheld "traditional" American values as opposed to Ali who was viewed as incendiary, similar to Jack Johnson who is viewed as an outcast because of his audacious relationship w/ a white woman.Comment

Upholding Justice and righteousness is what really matters. Ali most definitely did that.
Going against the norm in that era was something that had to be done. False Barriers had to be broken.Last edited by Vadrigar.; 06-05-2010, 04:57 PM.Comment

Yeah and Rosa Parks was just being arrogant when she didnt want to give up her seat. Martin Luther king was just being arrogant when he wanted equal rights for everyone, LBJ was just being arrogant when he signed the civil rights act, women were just being arrogant when they wanted the right to vote. I've taken history from elementary through college and according to your definition of being arrogant I can continue naming arrogant people, no I got one better I will post some pics of arrogance at its worst:

This is classic !!!!!!!!!!!
Ali is the greatest....perfect for that time and this time!!!!!!
A devil shot a black man in the head here in S.C. then dragged the black man by the neck with his truck for 11 miles.....That is what starts race wars....Not ALi telling some white lady the truth, that she's more free than he and others even if she's from England..
We need more black athletes to speak truth like this....Long live the G.O.A.T!!!!!!!Comment
