    My Cotto-Foreman Breakdown

So I've been watching Cotto and Foreman fights throughout the week and until now I've had been picking Foreman to win. These are the most important things I picked up:

It's more than likely there will be a cut caused by a headbutt. Foreman constantly jumps in with his head, which is why either he or his opponent have been cut in his last 3 fights. Cotto isn't a stranger to cuts caused by headbutts either. Whoever gets cut first will be in a lot of danger of losing, they both will try hard to fight through it though.

I don't see a stoppage unless it's by a cut. Because of his style, Foreman's heart, toughness, and determination get looked over. That and his style are the reasons why I don't think Foreman will get stopped. Cotto could get hurt or dropped in the fight, but I don't think he's shot, so I don't see it.

This fight could look very similar to Cotto-Urkal. People think that fight was a wipeout, but Urkal was landing a lot. The scoring was one sided, but the rounds definitely weren't. Foreman is bigger, has a more difficult style, and is maybe even better than Urkal.

This will be a tough close fight, but if Cotto can get back to his pressure fighting, jabbing, and body punching style, he should win. If he strictly head hunts and boxes from the outside, Foreman will win. It'll be a good fight because Cotto will have to walk through some serious punches to get to Yuri and if he decides to box Foreman will get brave.

You could be right, havent made my bet just yet, wish Foreman moved his head just a little more than he does, could be a mowing down over rounds by Cotto, but Cotto has alot stacked against him in this fight.

U think Yuri can punch? If Cotto is able to cut the ring off well, Yuri is not seeing the final bell IMO...

If Cotto is lured into boxing match, Yuri could take it...or if Yuri can make Cotto respect his "power"

I think Foreman's being underrated. He has good movement and footwork, in shape, knows when to attack, and clinch. There is no doubt Cotto will attack the body, they'll try and slow Foreman down asap. IMO, they will. Yuri is going to go thru deep waters because Cotto will eventually turn this fight physical. The only thing that's suspect is Foreman's chin. If he take a punch, he'll beat Cotto.

I don't think Cotto's shot, a great trainer was what he needed. I think he'll be a beast as always but I think Yuri will win by SD. I don't see a KO happening for either fighter.

Forgot to put a couple things up...

The pace of the fight will favor Cotto and his accuracy. He can't just stand in front of or let Foreman back him up, if that happens more often than not, he will lose.

My prediction is that I see Cotto scoring a bit more than Foreman and winning a decision in a close fight.

If its a close fight then Foreman will get the nod.

Cotto 116-112...or late TKO. That's my pick...

Maybe I haven't seen enough Foreman but I'm not really impressed...or I think Cotto has more left than he really does...

The biggest question for me is if Foreman's size advantage will be put to use. If Cotto doesn't get bullied around and can take Foreman's shots, Foreman's getting stopped. Cotto of old would feast on the skilled boxer types like Paulie, Quintana, Judah etc.

Also, I'm curious to see how Cotto is going to handle the move up in weight and Emmanuel in his corner. If he's not lethargic, then Yuri is getting hurt.

It's going to be an intersting fight.

^^Yeah the main thing to me is how much Cotto has left...if he has a good amount left I think he'll stop or systematically breakdown Foreman...Foreman may see the final bell though...

I don't think Yuri can hurt Cotto unless he lands something big...

Regardless in the later rounds I think Cotto will box and move...Foreman could edge him there if its competitive early...

I'm still goin with Miguel tho...only time we've seen him lose is when the other fighter is far superior in power or ability...

For starters I got Cotto by decision. That said, contrary to what so many think regarding Yuri's movement I think he's going to stay in the pocket more and try to get off his shots first when Cotto plants his feet to land his.

They key to victory for Cotto is taking Yuri's range away by committing to his jab and going straight to the body.

If Yuri opts for an outside fight with a his arm reach and decent jab it could spell fits for Cotto.
