That's fine but it won't be a tko. It will be a UD. Pacquiao couldn't even stop a dehydrated old man(he quit on the stool). How is he going to stop Margarito who has a waaaay better chin?
It will be ugly, don't get me wrong. But he won't tko Margarito.Comment

Just in case they ever fight, who do you think would win?
For Mayweather/Martinez, it would be a tough fight for both of them. Martinez has fast power and high stamina, and he comes in at akward angles which confuses his opponents. At the same time, Mayweather could use those akward angles to counter Martinez with an open shot. Also, Martinez has very bad balance, and Mayweather could exploit that by countering him and knocking him down. Mayweather is not just anyone, so Martinez would have to switch up his game plan if he wants to win. Still i'd say Mayweather by UD.
With Pac/Margo, I just don't know. Pac wouldn't really get his ass handed to him, but if he's not careful he could get hit with a big shot. Pacquiao has fast hand speed and Margarito has power (without the plaster of course) so it really could go either way. I'm not sure on this one.
Presently, both are hard to pick. Also depends on what weight class they fight in.
If at 154 then will be an interesting fight as Floyd will still have his skill advantages while Martinez's advantage is that he will be more used to fighting at that weight plus ..... the key may be that Martinez is Southpaw and a relatively big southpaw. That will give Floyd problems just like Martinez gave Pavlik and Williams problems. Being Southpaw, is trouble for Floyd since he will not be able to do his roll shoulder defense. Plus Floyd has had some problems with southpaws. Martinez sometimes slows down (coasts) in a fight. He better not if he wants to win.
Pac vs Margo is all about size vs speed. Pac should win as long as he uses his speed well. Still, you can't count Margo out as he can handle a good punch and is a big guy. Margo needs to be chopped down just like Cotto was but its even tougher to do.Comment

Also, to add on to what you said about Martinez, I forgot he leaves his hands by his sides.Presently, both are hard to pick. Also depends on what weight class they fight in.

Lol, that's another drastic thing he should change in his gameplan.Comment

Floyd wouldn't need to come in weighing 160. He's actually gotten a bit bigger since his return to the sport, so I think he would be fine with his regular weight.
As for the fight, I think it would potentially be a predominately technical fight. In my opinion, Floyd eventually figures him out and decisions him.Last edited by Emphasis; 06-04-2010, 05:59 PM.Comment

Another question for the masses.
What fight would be the biggest draw?
You'd have Pacquiao, who has a gigantic Filipino/asian following, among others, and you have Margarito who has a strong Mexican follow also among others, plus alot of people would be curious to see his return to fighting in the US again.
Then you have Floyd Mayweather, who's just Floyd. People are going to buy his fights regardless. But part time boxing fans don't know who Martinez is, and they may not be as intrigued. I'm not saying Martinez is an unknown, but there are alot of boxing fans who just watch boxing only when big names are fighting.Comment

I personally think that Mayweather/Martinez will be the better fight that gets the hardcore fans excited, but Pacquiao/Margarito will by the hyped up one with two huge ethnic bases supporting their guy, so it'll be the *bigger* fight/Another question for the masses.
