i heard the "54/10" on cotto's trunks are in memory of his dad but what exactly do those numbers mean?

I'm pretty sure the 54 is either his father's age or birth year. The 10 for 2010 year he died. I think it makes more sense for it to be the birth date 1954 - 2010. But not 100% sure.

That didn't work out well for Cotto either, Plaster or not he couldn't hurt Margorito when he fought his best in his entire life, this guy looks bigger and from what i seen can move way better than Margorito, Cotto is in big trouble if he can't handle this mentally.
