Current super welterweight titlist and former three-time champion Miguel Cotto both made weight for their HBO-televised main event, which airs live from Yankee Stadium (Saturday, 10:15PM ET).
Foreman (28-0, 8KO)) weighed in at the division limit of 154 lb; Cotto (34-2, 27KO) came in slightly lighter at 153.5 lb.
Both fighters are returning to the ring for the first time since separate bouts on the same pay-per-view telecast last November.
Foreman won the very title that will be at stake in this fight, having soundly outpointed Daniel Santos in a career-best performance.
Cotto’s evening didn’t go quite as well, catching a severe beating at the hands of pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao en route to a 12th round stoppage loss, conceding his alphabet welterweight title in the process.
The bout will mark Foreman’s first defense of his title, while Cotto makes his debut at the super welterweight limit after having spent the previous three years at welterweight.
